pnd, haven't responded to your PM yet. I've been meaning to consult with OOTP about what we've been talking about, but keep forgetting to!
I have a feeling that the next chapter won't be posted until Monday, since Patronus and Anji will be arriving in NY today and hanging out with Penguin and Yoda for the weekend. That's my hunch, but I may be wrong.

Lucky for you I'm a big enough geek to know exactly what you're talking about, but I was annoyed with Randal, he should have shared the wealth.
I just thought it would be nice to reward pnd for taking the initiative.
Besides all of the HP regulars are favored by me, except for people like Stephen and Clay who have totally abandoned the discussion. They have to sit in the corner.

Yeah, I was really annoyed with Randal, too. I was cheering him on until that last episode. It's not like his apprenticeship would've been in jeopardy if Rebecca got hired as well. Even though she wasn't as consistent as him, she's accomplished so much at such a young age and she would've done really well. It was poor sportsmanship and arrogant for him to take that away from her.
(But it was also Donald's fault for pulling a gimmick like that.)

Well that way he got to be the good guy who wanted to take them both, but mean old Randal wouldn't let him. Once again Trump comes off as the magnanimous hero man.

Posted: 3/17/06 at 3:22pmI agree that he was probably suprised that Randal didn't do the generous thing, but I still think he orchestrated the whole thing just right so he doesn't have to look like the bad guy. Randal does, which I guess was his first task as the Apprentice.

I'm willing to share--sort of! Oh, and I am a she, by the way. I wish I hadn't gone with something nobody would understand, but I didn't anticipate actually posting things very often. If only I knew then what I know now! Maybe an avatar would help... Oh, and Tiff, I haven't had a chance to look back to OotP yet either, so don't worry about it--we'll figure more out about it eventually!

We have close family friends with a daughter who's a year older than me, and when we were little she thought my name was Panda (not that she said it wrong, but that she really thought that was my name). So, their whole family calls me Panda. One time they actually called me Mand, and one of their sons didn't know who they were talking about. Anyway, when I take notes in class I leave out the vowels--it's my short hand, so that's how I came up with the username. I wish I'd come up with something that at least had some sort of identifiable word or name in it, though! OK, end of thread-jack!
