Went this evening (or last night now!) to get my ticket for opening day. There were about 200 people in line at about 9:00 for the 3 midnight showings. Seeing it at 1:00pm on Wednesday. Can't wait!

Just got back as well (and I have to be up for work in 3 hours. OY!) But I loved it. I thought it was one of the best of the movies and had just the right amount of comedy vs. dark tones. Plus, the leads give the best performances to date. I was kind of upset that they left out 2 things (one more than the other) but one of them, the director said he is going to put it in the next film, so I am not THAT disappointed.
Side note: People with bladder problems need to stay their butts at home. I got more exercise getting in and out of my seat, I should have calves of steel.

Absolutely, hands-down the best of these films. The cinematography was gorgeous! It's fun to hear from these overly picky fans who exclaim how things are not the same as they are in the books. Get over it, it's a movie...BASED on the novels. Screenwriters have to make things work for the screen, not for the fans. (Totally not saying this to anyone on here, just in general)

I can't decide if this is my new favorite film, if not it's a very close second to Chamber of Secrets.

Ooh, considering I have about 14 hours to go until I see it, I'm ready to beg for spoilers! Of course, since I know what happens in the books, it's more spoilers on what's left out that I want, but still!

It was great. I think one of the best, though I still love the 3rd one. I haven't read the book in a while so I dont know if they left anything major out. Please tell me what they left out!

-Dre- You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

I find it amusing that so many of the reviews make note that people who haven't read the books will be lost. If you haven't read the books but are watching the SIXTH MOVIE, you are, in my estimation, an idiot. And I don't care if you have no idea what the hell is going on on screen.

**SPOILER ALERT**
-Every pensieve scene except the orphanage and Slughorn/Riddle one
-Scrimegour (to be introduced in Deathly Hallows Part 1)
-The battle at the end, Death Eaters make it to the castle but there is no battle (This scene was removed because the creative team felt it would be repetitive to have to two attacks on the castle (HBP & DH part II)
-The Fleur and Bill romance (Introduced in Deathly Hallows)
I can't think of anything else major that was left out.

**SPOILER**
Yeah, the funeral was left out, but the director said that he is going to start the next one off with that
I also wish they would have made it seem like Ron wasn't going to make it. It was done too quickly PLUS I miss the chant Slytherins did.
**END OF SPOILER**
Can I just say that I LOVE the girl that plays Luna?!? She was the PERFECT choice for that role. Also, Emma Watson has turned into a great actress, which is a FAAAAAAAR cry from the first two movies.

I don't think this is a spoiler, but I was annoyed that they cut out sooo much from the book and fleshed out the teen drama instead.

spiderdj, maybe you could edit the thread title to reflect spoilers instead of everyone having to add it to their post. The movie has officially opened; presumably anyone not wanting to be spoiled won't read the thread now.

Got to see the midnight showing at the Zeigfeld, where when I arrived at around 10:30-11, the line was around almost three blocks long. I loved this as a movie, but the changes made somewhat annoyed me as a book fan.
**SPOILERS** Mostly how Dumbledore didn't immobilize Harry up on the tower, preventing him from acting like in the book, and rather let him skulk around underneath the tower's platform, and told him not to do anything. Do we really expect Harry to not do anything when Dumbledore doesn't have a wand and is being confronted with Death Eaters? Yeah, I know that he's supposed to believe that Snape is going to go in and save the day, but book!Harry would've attacked Draco before anyone else could've gotten there. Sorry if that seems minor, but for some reason it annoyed me more than them leaving out the last battle, the Bill/Fleur romance, the Penseive scenes, the lack of explanation for WHY Snape was the Half-Blood Prince, etc.
That being said, as a movie, I still appreciated it, acting was the best out of all of them, cinematography gorgeous, and pacing was done rather well.

What sort of trailers are they showing before the film? Is the Percy Jackson teaser being show?

They showed Percy Jackson, Where the Wild Things Are, and a bunch of other movies that looked really bad.

I'm looking forward to Percy Jackson because I love Greek Mythology (as if no one could guess based on my name here lol)

We actually didn't have any trailers. Was rather nice to actually have a movie start at the time (or well, close to, it probably started late) that was printed on the ticket, rather than sit through a bunch of trailers.

Just got back from the theatre. My kids and I really loved the movie. Agree- I love Luna and wish they'd show her more. My brother-in-law works at the theatre and he said they sold 2100 tickets at the midnight movie. Said there were so many people that they had to open up a 3:00 showing. The trailers we saw were Percy, Wild Things, Sherlock, and 2012- which I thought was really scary for kids in the audience to see- but then again, I HATE movies like that. Back to Potter- I was pleaseantly surprised as to how fast the time flew. My kids and I really enjoyed outselves!
