Definitely the standout episode of the season so far. I almost always find myself rooting for Andre & Ronda as a couple and as potential over-throwers of Luscious' regime. And man was Cookie on point style-wise. She looked like she had raided Donatella Versace's closet. I really enjoyed the catty banter between the prosecutor and her over weaves and wigs. That's Cookie's lane.

Unfortunately, the episode also reminded me that Terrence Howard is arguably miscast in the role of Luscious Lyon. He has a baby face and doesn't cut an imposing figure on screen. The episode left me thinking how much more credible Dennis Haysbert, Blair Underwood, Morris Chestnut, or Idris Elba would have been heading up the Lyon pride.

Beg to differ re Terrence being miscast. I think his baby face works great for explaining why this patently psychotic individual would have had so many people in his corner for so long. He can seduce like nobody's business. This is true of Luscious and certainly true of Terrence as well. That man has a staggering aura around him, and on the odd occasions when the writing can come up to his level, he can set off real fireworks.

Hard to believe but true, that way back during the pilot days, there was real talk that Terrence was out and Cuba Gooding Jr would be playing the role. Thank all that is holy that things turned out the way they did!

After just watching the show from last night, I agree with some of the other posts about how much this show needs Danny Strong to stay on course and stay intriguing, while showcasing practically entire production numbers/music videos, not to mention even introducing the "Blue Bayou" led storyline. Danny Strong even brought in one of his old friends from Buffy The Vampire Slayer to portray the artist/photographer with the semi crush on Jamal. I too am starting to think Terence Howard is starting to be a little off or miscast.

As long as DS is still writing and or directing the show is very different. I thought the directing from last night was terrific, lots of very different angles and camera work. It's still entertaining for now.

I hadn't watched in a couple of weeks, but tuned in last night. I realized I didn't miss watching it, so now it's off of my list.

I half watched the finale as well. Otherwise this year I just saw the first two episodes. Wow. Ilene Chaikan is showrunner and she also made her last show The L Word quickly fall off course

We were angry when Dynasty did that in the '80s with the gay Carrington. And Billy Crystal went straight on Soap. I can't believe there are still people producing TV who think that happens.

Highs: (1) the tender on screen moment between Lucious and Cookie after his mini-breakdown while brandishing a semi-automatic rifle, (2) the on screen chemistry between Jamal and Alicia's character, (3) Marisa Tomei as BOSS BIATCH.

Lows: (1) the drivel that Jamal & Alicia sang, (2) day long awards show, (3) the song performed by Rihanna Jr., (4) Naomi Campbell's flat delivery,
