Posted: 7/30/11 at 1:56pmI have a friend (acquaintance I should say) that does that lemon juice cleanse thing every few months. She has 2 pre-teen daughters and to me I don't think it's setting a very good example for them. I think she thinks it's what is keeping her thin.

I drink water with lemon or lime often, as it seems to keep things on the alkaline side and aids in biliary salt production. I tone down portions, keep hydrated, keep probiotics and omega oils around when I sense an imbalance.
I tried the fast once, and it didn't really agree with me after two days. So I ate about half as usual, kept up with the hydration, got more sleep. Started to sense a lightness just from asking less of my digestive system.
For me, cutting down a bit on calories and upping the fluids (lemon water and light teas) seems to be something I respond to. The fast was well, too fast.
