there is so much dysfuction in my workplace.
it is really like highschool. the "cool" people & the nerds...& more you actually DO your work, the nerdier you are, while the people who goof off just seem to get cooler & cooler.
im sure you can tell im one of the nerds.
the project manager assigns most of the work to the nerds (theres three of us) so that the "cool" people will be able to coast & be free to go to lunch & out shopping with her.
& then our boss loves to flirt with the "cool" people, so no matter what their work output actually is, shes always going to favor them.
combine all that with an HR department that would rather say "see ya!" than to actually deal with an issue & you have an unhappy li'l norn.

It sounds like pure misery - of the exact same level as I was talking about in my post.
Based on my experience I wouldn't suggest "up and quitting" as a course of action, though. I would definitely find something else first and go from there. It's true that I'm happier now, but those months in between I wouldn't wish on anyone.
