I have.
They deserved it.
I didn't lose a second of sleep over it.

Wait a minute. One post you're criticizing me for starting this thread and then a few hours later you're contributing to it?
Oh, TheaterDiva, it may be time to visit your prescribing shrink for a med adjustment.
So?
It's obvious WHY you posted this, I just answered now.
Sometimes you make me laugh.
Not with you, but at you.

Ah, I see. Half the time you bitch and the other half you are one.
I'm a full time bitch.

So I see you've picked up the patented RathnaitSixtyTwo ThreadJack Technique (TM). Good for you! Thank you for your contribution to the thread you critized, you put the sissy in "hypocrisissy." Now, if you'd move along maybe other people have something to add to the thread WITHOUT putting it down first.
Oh, that's my cue.
Uh, I'm glad to say that I've never had to fire ANYone under ANY circumstances.
Namo,
You are making me laugh again.
I have never gotten anyone fired and would never intentionally do so.
One time a colleague told me something he was doing which I knew would hurt the organization. It was a moral dilemma for me. I appealed to my colleague directly and advised him to tell the boss himself before he actually did any damage. I give him a lot of credit because he did.
I had to fire someone once, and it was excrutiating. Another time, I had to "suspend" someone (which I did painstakingly and with much compassion, honestly)...and then they tried to get me fired!
"Another time, I had to 'suspend' someone"
You hanged him?

People are funny. Not TheaterDiva or StageManager, but normal people.
Oh, wow!
I just can't even breathe....
I'm too busy laughing.

Can't even breathe? Fantastic! Keep up the good work.
Meanwhile...
Namo, why can't you love me the way that I love you?

"Not only fired, but arrested!"
Me too, Neddy. An employee was stealing from the company, and it was affecting my paycheck. No question as to what I needed to do, in my mind.
Sometimes it's hard to work at a job when you're doing all the work and another person is doing nothing. I was working retail a while back and was stationed at the cash register. (there's a reason for that, believe me). Well, here I am, standing for 9 hrs a day at a busy register, and another employee is hanging around the store sipping iced coffees all day, hiding behind racks of clothes when the boss was around, lol.
Eventually, some of these characters were caught stealing and were fired, but I had quit already.

I have initiated proceedings that resulted in two nurses and a med tech getting fired. For the safety of patients, I don't regret it. One nurse kept hiding in the break room every time she would get a heads up about a critical patient coming in, one continutally made bigoted remarks about every minority group she could think of and intentionally gave substandard treatment to Medicaid recipients, and the med tech came to work high on crack.
The bigoted nurse filled out a five page complaint on me that not a single other person in my unit either agreed with or would substantiate. Even though several people came to bat for me when I had to meet with HR to discuss her accusations, I am still bothered that my work reputation could have suffered by it. I didn't sleep well for three months after that incident. I resigned from that particular postion because of the stress it created and am now just an ER nurse again.
I also suspect the med tech keyed my car one night after she was fired, but I feel more sympathy for her than anger. Her personal problems are much more than I've ever been through.
I've felt both relief and fear when these individuals were terminated because of me. But it is very hard for someone to be terminated where I work and the three people had to blatantly violate their contracts in order to be terminated.
Namo, feel free to pm me if you like.

That was my last job. Unfortunately I was the ONLY employee, and the person doing nothing was the owner's son. I was hired based on my previous experience and my job to was make the business run like a real business, but I was directly under the thumb of the son. If I've ever worked with someone who deserved to be fired and arrested it was this guy, but the owner (his mommy, who'd already bought him two houses, a bookstore, a Porsche and a pickup truck as well as paying all of his household bills for him AND putting the store's inventory on her credit card while he pulled handfuls of cash out of the register to pay for his bar tabs) had no intention of making it a real business. She was more interested in continuing their psychotic co-dependent cycle in some vain and fruitless attempt to be Mother Of The Year.
I beat my head against that wall for close to four years before I came into the good sense to get the hell out.
Oh yeah. I can't go into detail but I once had a supervisor who was a vindictive, evil she demon. She collected a fat paycheck, did no work, took credit for everyone else's work and had people fired constantly just because she didn't like them.
I manged, with the help of the company's IT person, to get access to her email, files on her computer and set her up. Private email were made public, her lack of work became known when we logged how much time she spend online shopping, planning her vacations and doing all her personal tasks at work.
She was eventually asked to resign and I never felt a bit guilty about it or about the two children she was trying to support alone.
Sometimes people just don't show you the respect you think you deserve and you have no choice but to have them fired.

Just last year I had our school librarian fired. SHe'd brought her pet dog to school and caused problems with people who had allergic reactions. To make matters worse, the mutt was blind and mistook my pant leg for a fire hydrant.
I thought you were into urolagnia, Dolly?
