I honestly thought this was the WORST film I had ever seen. It was too predictable. The costumes were gorgeous, but other than that it was just "bllaahhh"

I've also got an DVD of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen that I haven't watched yet...mmm, I must do that.
I saw MYSTERIOUS SKIN recently. As not a big fan of Greg Akari, I was ASTONISHED by how much I loved the film...and how affected I was by it.
PalJoey'sPal and I saw Narnia and loved it. It's reawakened my love for the books and for Lewis, as I posted in bwaysinger's thread.

Gee PJ, I'm surprised you'd hand over your hard earned liberal cash to a right-wing Republican-funding producer like that. I wish I could be so situational with my ethics, because I might like that movie but my conscience would never forgive me.
I saw and LOVED "New York Doll," the documentary about Arthur "Killer" Kane.
Capote - Loved it.
King Kong - Loved it.
Match Point - Liked it.
Munich - Liked it.
The Producers - Major Disappointment. (But I'll give it second chance on DVD.)
I haven't gone to the movies in a few weeks. The last things I saw were:
Happy Endings
The Squid and the Whale
Mrs. Henderson Presents
Grizzly Man

I forgot...
THE PRODUCERS
MRS. HENDERSON PRESENTS

Oh yeah, I saw The Producers too. On New Year's Eve. With my seXxxy partner. I've had much worse New Year's Eves.
These are the dvds I borrowed from my friend:
Goodnight and Goodluck
The Libertine
Transamerica
Memoirs of a Geisha
Rent
Crash
Match Point
Walk the Line
My favorites-Match Point, Crash
My least fav-Rent
All the others were pretty good.
walk the line
munich
capote
Namo, my ethics may or may not be "situational," but I learned from Leonard Bernstein that all art is political and great art transcends politics. Bernstein brought Wagner to the Israel Philharmonic, because he wanted everyone to know that it is possible to love Wagner's music and hate Wagner's politics (or, more precisely, how Hitler's politics appropriated Wagner's music).
Narnia meant something very deep to me as a child, as it did to PalJoey'sPal, and we were both pleased that the movie lived up to that, in a way more than the Lord of the Rings movies have.
Oh--and nice to hear about your "seXxxy partner."

i've seen the producers, munich, syriana and memoirs of a geisha, all of which i thought were leagues better than THE movie. the only movie i thought that was worse than it was rent.
NYC's last showing of Rent today
(who woulda thought you'd wanna hear about that film over another one so soon?)
Also, memoirs of a geisha(okay), producers(I really enjoyed it), school of rock(cute), and the family stone(cute as well)
So far in 2006:
The Producers (blah)
Memoirs Of A Geisha (ugh)
Match Point (really ugh)
Just Like Heaven (saved by the performances)
Rumor Has It.... (ick)
Fun With Dick & Jane (more fun than I thought it would be)
Munich (blah)
This next week I should see Jarhead, A Cock & Bull Story, Underworld Evolution (ah, guilty pleasures) and Derailed.
