jrb -none of that hurt her senate career in NY but it's a whole new ballgame when it comes to the whole COUNTRY. I mean, yes, while Chappaquidick certainly didn't stop Ted Kennedy from being a long time senator in Massachusettes, he certainly could never have had any hopes for a presidential bid after what happened.
In any case, I feel like if the country wants a moderate, shouldn't we be nominating...I dunno...real moderates? I think all this crap about people having to seem like they are in the center is ridiculous when you could just be smart and elect someone who IS center, like a Bill Clinton-esque character, who wouldn't have to lie about their positions. Both parties bring losses upon themselves when the primaries nominate someone who is a polarizing figure.
