I especially like the helpful pointers on how to tip people you do not know, do not know you and you rarely if ever interact with. Thank God they won't be overlooked.

...is tipping etiquette the unofficial topic of the off-topic board now?

Was there really someone out there wondering whether they should tip a real estate broker?

I can't see tipping our postal person. There seems to be a different one every day and the service is bad. Maybe next year.

I'm with you, Stockard. That sounds way too complicated and expensive. I own a house and don't have to tip anyone...except waitstaff when I eat out. Plus, I work darn hard and nobody tips me. And I haven't seen a Christmas bonus since the 80s! I remember when it was standard for most middle class folks to get a week or two pay as a bonus. Now that's almost unheard of...Damn 1%!!!
