You want to see Brody being really different? Check out SUMMER OF SAM, in which he plays a punk rocker type from Brooklyn who puts on a faux British accent.

I think Brody is a brilliant actor - he's one of my favorites.

Apparantly no one else agrees with me on Affleck?

Eh, I don't. I thought he was great, and this is coming from someone who can't stand him otherwise.

Mark my words but Affleck will be nominated for an Oscar along with Lane

I'll have to see the film again to pick up on the lapses in the accent. I didn't notice them. That said, I thought there was a lot of depth and sadness in Affleck's performance. I, for one, was impressed.

But, I do agree that Lane was awesome. She's great in everything.

I saw it this afternoon and I'm sad to say I'm kind of disappointed. I expected more.

Good movie. No way do I think it should be a Best Picture contender.

I was impressed, too, and think he had some wonderful scenes but I don't know that he really deserves the level of praise he's been getting. I think Hollywood just loves to reward a comeback kid. I was pulling for him and was HOPING I'd be blown away. But I wasn't.

I think Ben is a genuinely good guy. I like him a lot. And sure, the casting makes sense...he could relate to the story and Reeves struggle. He started out as an indie film fave, won an Oscar in his twenties and had industry respect and the world at his feet. Did a lot of crappy movies for the paychecks, became a sex symbol, turned into a media joke (Bennifer) and wanted to be taken seriously again.

But Oscar nomination? Sure, he'll probably get one. But I personally thought he was better in Good Will Hunting and Chasing Amy.
