My name was not even in the top 1000 the year I was born, and now it's #5. I never met another Ava until I was an adult, and now there are 574390584 infant/toddler Ava's out there. I always liked having a unique name, and little old ladies would always say, "Oh, are you named after Ava Gardner?" Now whenever I tell someone my name I get, "Oh, that's my sister's/cousin's/best friend's baby's name!"

One of my girl name and one of my boy name choices are in the top 10. Hopefully they fall out of favor a bit before I have children.

I looked up my name, and although it's an old name, it wasn't in the top 10 at all until 1986, and since then it's been in and out of favour.

My name hasn't broken the top 40's in the past 25 years, but I like it that way. Not many people have my name. I used to hate that but love it now.

I've always said that one of my children would be named Ava, so I hope there's less of them by the time I have kids.
