Posted: 5/12/07 at 4:40pmMy name will never be on these lists, although it is #7 on the list in France. I'm upset that Ava's on here...hopefully it loses a bit of its popularity before I have daughters, so I can name one of them that!

Posted: 5/12/07 at 4:56pmIt's odd... my name hasn't been in the top 1000 for the past 15 years, but I don't think I have a particularly strange name. There are at least two songs I know of with my name. It is a mystery.

Posted: 5/12/07 at 5:08pmOver the past 15 years, the highest my name has been ranked is #82 (in 2001). I'm kind of thankful for it. At most, there was one other girl with my name in my class, and that was only in 1st grade, I think, while there were at least 8-10 variations of Katie/Catherine/Kathleen/Caitlin in my high school class of 120.

Because that's way too close to "Normal", and we all know I'm anything but!

My confirmation name is in the top 12, which amuses me, because I got nothing but grief from everyone when I chose it.
b12b: My manager at my very first retail job was named Beulah. NOT a nice lady.

Mandi Moo - This hasn't been updated for 2006 yet, but if you type in Amanda, a graph will show you how the trends have gone. Looks like Amanda peaked in the 1980s.

Mine is there.
My Mother swore she would never name her son Chirstopher, and she did. It was number 1 or 2 the year I was born.

Mine is not on the list and never will be.
Doesn't bother me at all!

Posted: 5/13/07 at 4:27pmMy name peaked in 1935-1936 (Marlene Dietrich, probably being the likely source), and it's pretty much been on a downward decline since then.

And we had a Hortense in my school. Don't ask!
P.S. My name will never be on any list. I think there are only a few in existence~

Posted: 5/13/07 at 4:32pmC is For Company- My name is Samantha too! Except it's Samantha Grace, and my uncle was in the Happy Time (he doesn't care for Broadway anymore. Saddening.). If that counts as anything at all.

<-- Katy, and yes, there are a lot of us, but never any who spell it the way I do. I'm always the victim of misspelling, or being called "Kathy" - don't ask why
I have always liked the name Samantha for a girl
I'm waiting for D'Sh'Qu'annaiquinieeshaiett'a (pronounced "Becky", of course) to make the list.
lol!!!!
