Do people hate Anne because she supported Obama?
it does seem bizarre that there is so much bullying on a theater message board...
Her ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri is out of jail now and is seeking a Presidential pardon to return to the United States
Anne Hathaway’s Ex Seeks Presidential Pardon
I don't dislike her at all, just her performance in Les Mis-she was just the lucky one to get the part.Anyone else would also have won the Oscar-you just had to look dirty/cry a lot/possess an average singing voice and have a camera stuck up your nose for 15mins.
I don't remember anyone thinking that she was a worse Academy Awards host than Franco... Granted, I wasn't a member here when that happened, but generally, people appreciated her being enthusiastic over him being lackadaisical.
She has an affected graciousness that reminds us of the driven theatre girl, as if Hathaway were a real-life Rachel Berry.
Jordan (kinda) called it!

Did I say that? I don't remember but it sounds about right.
I think you did in the other thread. I'll check on that.
And nope... but you did say that she sounded like a girl straight off the bus going to an open-call, which can be said about Rachel.

I have always liked her until she started winning all the awards for Les Miserables and her acceptance speeches just sort of rubbed me the wrong way.
Unless someone is being purposely ungrateful and offensive, I could not care less about acceptance speeches. I doubt I could do any better.
Personally, I think America turned on Hathaway simply because they find nice females less interesting until they reach their golden years and become "endearing". I mean, look at all the people who kept saying how put off they were by Quvenzhane Wallis simply for acting like the nine year-old girl she actually is. And she only had about 3-4 brief reaction shots during the broadcast. Kids can't even be kids any more and genuine cuteness is a target for poisoned darts.
I don't get it at all.
