Popular Science did compare the actress’ public behavior to “ a robot built from scratch by the world's most insufferable high school theater class,”...
HATE A WAY ON HATHAWAY
I don't hate her but I've even said here she's exactly like an annoying high school girl in the drama club.
One Twitter follower posted: “The only thing I hate more than Anne Hathaway is Anne Hathaway crying.” Another added: “it's like they took all the things that people find annoying and put them in one person.”
Take Jennifer Lawrence's meeting Jack Nicholson. Substitute Anne for Jennifer, and you'll get some lady gushing about how brilliant his work is and how inspiring his performances are and blah blah blegh!
I don't hate her, but she's not my favorite.
I actually really like her.

Kill the witch! KILL HER!!! How dare she be?
Huh? What? Que?
Just ignore it. According to another poster He and some other freak called wynbish apparently think I'm some other person and so they like to harrass me. I've sent an e-mail to the moderators.
*GAY GASP*
No no no. This is ChiChi (and all the others, as well). A few months ago he admitted it one night.
Trust me, Carlos. And just as ChiChi does, he runs SCREAMING to the mods who immediately delete anything associated with calling him out on all his other screen names. There was a thread about them doing that for him somewhere but I'm pretty sure it was deleted.

I was talking about Anne with an E but in an ironic way because I feel the opposite of what I wrote.
LMAO @ *GAY GASP*.
Wow...I had no idea all that was going on. Now I get it.
Yeah for some reason the mods LOVE him and have no problem with all his multiple screen names and deleting any reference I make to them. I still have screenshots of the INSANE PM's he sent me. That thread was, of course, deleted as well.
I don't mind her one bit. Jennifer Lawrence, on the other hand...

I'm glad Audrey Hepburn, Judy Holliday, Elizabeth Taylor, Anne Bancroft, and others weren't winning their honors today.
Their talent and their performances would have been trashed and reduced to rubble only minutes after Oscar night.
We love building them up and tearing them down equally as much now.
Amen best12bars, Amen.
I don't know how any public person survives the scrutiny of our times. To have every word, every piece of clothing, every exit from a car, every trip to the grocery store, etc made fodder. I know, I know, they choose to lead public lives. But does that mean they have to cede their entire lives?
Everyone gets to have their opinion, and certainly very few will be universally admired, but I've seen nothing in Hathaway's words, deeds, or career choices that have earned such derision. I'm a father of three daughters, and I'd be happy for any or all of them to choose her as a role model.
Madbrian, "That's the price of success." If they didn't want notoriety, they'd be in retail.
Funny how she really wasn't hated at all until she earned an Oscar. At any rate, when the next universally liked female Hollywood star gets accolades, the snipers will target their new prey and forget about Anne. It's not as if there has been a long history of animosity towards Anne Hathaway before now. The only reason I can see why this has become a "thing" at all is the bizarre fact that Anne didn't seem to do or say one thing to deserve any of it. Perhaps she's too likable?
^I really think the only reason people do not like her is because its the "cool" thing to dislike anything that is too mainstream.
For the record: I love Anne Hathaway. I don't want anyone to think I hate her just because I started this thread.

I don't think the dislike has started recently. I just think it has been openly discussed recently. I have friends who started not liking her around Ella Enchanted. My dislike of her public persona started well over a year ago. Heck, the video of her and Joseph I cited as an example in the other thread was from a year ago. If I had said a year ago, "I don't like Anne Hathaway in person as much as I do onscreen," people would have shrugged, chalked it up to differing opinion, and moved on. Her being more in the spotlight now brings out her defenders as much as it does her critics.
It's like saying people don't like Lea Michele only because of the way she is since Glee. Some on here have not cared for her well into her Spring Awakening days, and maybe even before. If they said four years ago, "I don't really like Lea Michele", who would care?
