Are you going to feel weird about it or will you treasure what will probably end up being Heath Ledger's final performance.
I guess if you have to go out, it's best to go out with a bang.

The same way I felt when I first saw QUEEN OF THE DAMNED. I was sad, but it was nice to see the final work.
Speaking of which, are there any parallels between the two tragic deaths? I'm asking about the reactions, not so much the people themselves.

I don't usually PLAN in advance how I'm going to feel about a movie... or anything else, for that matter. So I won't start "planning my emotions" now.
I did see The Crow when it was first released, though. It was very surreal, since the character dies in the film and then comes back. A bit unsettling. I kinda wanted to forget about it as soon as I left the theatre.

I don't think I could bare seeing it.
Nothing to do with Ledger, though.
But maybe they shouldn't release it at all. They should just scrap it out of respect for his daughter.

This is how I plan to feel. Nervous. Then queasy. Sad. Excited. Bored. Really bored. Glad. (That's just for the coming attractions). Giggly. (That turn off your cellphone cartoon is hilarious!) Nervous (The note the nearest exit warning always makes me nervous.) Thrilled. (That's what always happens when the "And now the feature presentation" announcement goes up).
Sad. Really sad. Interested. Really interested. Nervous. Freaked out. Bummed out. Depressed. Adrenalized. ADRENALIZED. VERY INTERESTED. Not interested. Bummed out. Depressed. Wicked sad. Angry. Depressed.

I try to do as much as possible in advance, including reading every version of the script that's posted on the internet. The last thing I need in this day and age is any surprises.

"But maybe they shouldn't release it at all. They should just scrap it out of respect for his daughter."
Why? Not to sound disrespectful or anything, but really why would they scrap it? They are already in post production, everything's been shot, so why scrap it? TDK is a great opportunity for Heath's fans to see his last film, so why ruin that by scraping it? They released The Crow and Brandon Lee died during that, they released Plan Nine From Outer Space and Bela Lugosi died during that.
In all honesty, I still have the same feelings that I had before he died, utter anticipation to see his performance as Joker. I do know that the trailer and everything really shows how dedicated he was to creating a darker and scarier Joker than Jack Nicholson's and I know I'm going to be leaving the theater with the sad thought that Heath won't be around to reprise his performance if Joker is in the third movie and that TDK is his last movie and that there won't be another film with Heath.

I will dig it. Because I'm in it.
As an extra, but whatever, it was a cool experience. And they used my group in a key scene involving the Joker, and it ROCKED seeing Heath about 10 feet away from me in his super-cool makeup. He looked me in the eye for what seemed like an awkwardly long time, considering he was looking at a group of extras he didn't know and we weren't really allowed to talk to the stars. He seemed to have very intense eyes just from that brief encounter, but mostly he was , well, joking around with the crew in between takes. Clearly he was one of these actors who internalized his characters to his detriment, a la reports that he had so much trouble sleeping in recent months, wrapping up Batman and the other movie he was currently shooting. His death is a sad loss, especially for one so young.
And no, I'm not making any of this up.

I loved BATMAN BEGINS.
Who knew the Nolan bros could be so mainstream?
