I told my mother and step-father as soon as I moved out of the house - there was no way I was going to deal with being stuck under his roof when I didn't know what would happen. I actually thought it might kill him. Rather disappointingly, I was wrong.

I keep coming back to this thread in hopes of being able to offer some advice. I just can't. It never dawned on me to "come out" to anybody. Do straight people come out to their family and friends? I just started going with guys. It was nobody's business. I would say no more and no less than anyone would say about a date. Of course, I did date girls, as well, for quite a while. Perhaps that's the difference. Not sure. Anyway, the whole issue of "coming out" is not something with which I can relate. And, it helped that my family made no issue of it. But then, neither did I.

Convince - Maybe if you're reading these posts while you're trying to think of what to say, you might get an idea of what other people deal with in this situation.

whenever someone asks or annoys me i say "yeah i'm gay, i'm in love with brad pitt...he's soooo hot... and who cares if i'm gay?"

I did read the other posts. That was my point. I never thought of "coming out". I was just sharing my experience, as did others.

My mother figured it out when I looked better in her dresses than her.

Besides, she just send me a box of old pictures, and there is one of me at around two years of age...wearing a wig.

It's ALL her fault!
