I own FUNNY GIRL but I've never seen it's sequel, FUNNY LADY. Just caught this number from the film ~ "How Lucky Can You Get?" which I think is fantastic! Now I must get this film. She's amazing in this number so I thought I'd share for those who have never seen it.
Barbra Streisand - How Lucky Can You Get?
Retro,
I have always loved Funny Lady and "How Lucky Can You Get." A few years ago Chita Rivera performed the song at Carnegie Hall and I think it's a powerful, campy and passionate rendition.

Give it up for Julia Murney.

Regarding Chita, that clip may be from My Favorite Broadway: The Love Songs, which was recorded at City Center.
I really, really like FUNNY LADY despite what everyone says. The musical numbers are all phenomenal - it's actually one of the most played soundtracks on my itunes. Barbra looks drop-dead gorgeous (that HOW LUCKY dress....yowza!)and it's just a fun, sweet movie. Also, I think her chemistry with James Caan is great, and the scenes with Omar Sharif...wow.
Thanks Brian.
Since the first My Favorite was at Carnegie Hall...I just assumed. Sorry.

You MUST watch FUNNY GIRL and FUNNY LADY back-to-back. It's a BRILLIANT set of films when combined. FUNNY LADY on its own doesn't really work unless you pair it in your mind with FUNNY GIRL.
And eat Chinese food in between.
Funny Lady is MUCH better with Chinese food.
FUNNY LADY is underrated; the basic problem is the script that was done by Jay Presson Allen. You would think the screenwriter of CABARET and THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE could have done better.
This is also a film in which most musical numbers were snipped.
"Great Day"/the dialogue scene ['you don't have any lines here']/"Lucky" is the best part of the film and better than any musical moment in the film of Chicago.
