BUMP

and this thread was going so well too..
And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

Yeah, and then not only did you stump me with your age, I also had to go take a shower... I'm back now, but I still dont have an answer for you. Maybe one of the other people your age will?

re: How'd you get your guy/girl?

I'm in a sort of similar but less severe situation. I'm sorta-friends with this guy, who is almost 15 (just finished his freshman year), and I'm 15 (16 in august, junior in the fall), and I've liked him this whole school year. It's lame b ecause I started liking him bcause I thought he liked me, but then nothing happened so I just sort of sat back and didn't really flirt (not that I can, I SUCK at that) or anything anymore...and then I've let it be for quite some time, and any chance I WOULD have had, well if he HAD liked me he would have moved on by now.

but then I was thinking and I realized that I'm not good enough friedsn wtih him for it to be a big deal if I did ask him out and he said no. Like...he's a nice enoguh guy that he wouldnt stop ebing my friend, but being younger and completely oblivious I just don't know how he'll be.

Aaaanyway...
sorry for threadjackingish

re: How'd you get your guy/girl?

Perhaps I'm not the best person to give advice, as I don't have too much experience with this sort of thing (the story I'm about to tell is about my boyfriend of 6 weeks, who is my first boyfriend ever), but I'm going to try anyway.

We were friends, and already comfortable around each other. We hung out in a small group a good deal, and then he would walk me back to my dorm on his way back to his. We had a lot of one-on-one conversations during that time, and it helped me get to know him a lot better. Eventually, we started planning times to hang out just the two of us instead of just doing it by coincidence after hanging out in groups. But nothing happened until he spoke up and said he liked me. Like you, I was too shy to make the first move, so before that I just put a lot of positive signals out there.

So in conclusion, hang out with him as much as possible, preferably one-on-one. And send positive signals, not mixed ones. Hope this helped. :)

I starred in a short film called Magnetic Personality. Check it out!

re: How'd you get your guy/girl?

This is something I remember quite well from my younger, Junior High and Early High School days. People were always asking each other "out" (whatever that meant) and then they'd go "out" and break up. I don't think you should concentrate so much on asking him out, as much as you should concentrate on building a close friendship with him alone. As in, you two do things together, where the whole group isn't involved. Although I am only 18, I am pretty sure that's how its done on the grown up level. You don't have to be dating right away. Just spend time with the person you like, seeing movies, going to the park, going out to eat, seeing a show, whatever, and hopefully a relationship will blossom out of the alone time you spend together.

This is also a good test of what the person's personality is beyond the way he/she acts when all their friends are looking. I could be completely wrong, b/c lord knows I am not the most seasoned of daters. I have my own little problem who I flirted with and hung out with my entire first year of school, and that still went nowhere. I am hoping for you!

I bet Rath knows where to score some chloroform. I haven't seen the likes of Maureen McGovern around these parts lately.

My advice. Find out what common interest's you have! Then talk and act on it! There is nothing better than finding out, the person you want to "get with", share's the same passion's as you! it's DAMN attractive. That's how im with my mr's at the moment!

Be open and honest; if it isn't right you might as well figure it out right away...

When I told Jarico how I felt about him, I didn't even know if he was gay. Sometimes, you just gotta take a chance.

I'm still trying to imagine how good looking the guy must be for CJR to say that she thought he was out of her league. Have you seen this girl?
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

re: How'd you get your guy/girl?

Awwwweee shameless, that's very sweet of you. I guess I thought he was out of my league because he was a bit older and the total package; good looks and a complete sweetheart.

Now as for the book He's Just Not That Into You.... oy did that book ever mess with my head. I much prefer the book Kiss My Tiara: How to rule the world as a smartmouth goddess
