SYDNEY (Reuters) - An Australian woman will face court charged with repeatedly stabbing her partner because he played an Elvis Presley song over and over again, police said Tuesday.
Police said the 30-year-old woman was charged with unlawful wounding after her 35-year-old partner was stabbed with a pair of scissors in the back, shoulder and thigh at Northam, about 62 miles east of Perth in Western Australia state on Monday.
The man, whose injuries were described as "non-life threatening," had been repeatedly playing the song "Burning Love," a police spokesman said.
The 1972 song was the U.S. rock great's 40th and last top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Well, had he died it would have been a justifiable homicide.
My friend Mark used to like one song at a time. When I met him it was The Thong Song. Every time we would get in his car, which was a lot, he would play it. As soon as it went off, he would play it again. After, I'd say, 6-8 weeks of that he switched songs. This time it was "You Sang To Me" by Marc Anthony. I am not sure which was worse. Of course, this was all before he came out. I think it was a cry for help.

My lovely and incredible roommate often plays the entire RENT repertoir (not just one song, though). Over and over and over. I feel she may end up dead one day.
If katygrace is reading this, I swear I won't kill you while you sleep!

"Someday I'm going to have a baby and I'm gonna name her L'il Mimi Marquez and I and will sing to her every day and when she's a toddler I will say "L'il Mimi Marquez, clad only in a bubble diaper, will perform her famous play pen handcuff dance to the sounds of breast milk being pumped!" ~Kringas

Yes, that's why I listen with headphones (after listening to "For Good" several times in a row).

Posted: 1/12/06 at 1:43pmI can listen to Rent over and over again, and one time I played a Benjy Davis Project [a local band] song on itunes thirty seven times in a row. I just really liked that song on that day I guess.

I very nearly murdered my roommate just last night...
"Unbreak My Heart". Over. And over. And over. And over. One more time, and he would have been singing "Unbreak My Neck".

Posted: 1/12/06 at 2:47pmMy ex did that when "Hella Good" first came out. At 3 in the morning, when I had to work the next day. I had liked that song up to that point. Now I loathe it.
