When I was in middle school, people thought I was a senior or a junior.
Then, I stopped aging. I went to a new school for my senior year in high school, and everyone thought I was a freshman. I had to show one teacher my student id before she would believe I was a senior.

I'm 25 and a teacher, the last two years when I've gone to buy school supplies at the beginning of the year I've been asked what high school I go to.
I chopped off my very long hair for a role this past month, and I secretly hoped the new 'do would help me look more my age (it would be nice if men older than 19 would hit on me...) but one of the fourth grade teachers told me she thinks it makes me look younger. Crap.
But, I don't complain too much, I still can play 16 years old on stage, and with appropriate make-up and attire can play my age so that does leave me in a pretty castable place.

I get told 17-19 all the time. I'm 23. The worst thing ever was when I went to a college party with my friends one night. I'm sort of quiet, and one girl was already drunk to the point where she needed help walking in the door of the party. So, I'm standing behind them, while they are sort of making a scene. They get in with no problem. I get to the guy with my money, and he asked me if I went to the college we go to. I showed him my school id, just to prove that I went there. He probably thought I was some high school kid trying to crash. That had never happened anywhere else before.
Now what's really weird is how I get carded. I always get carded at the bar. However, Pennsylvania has really strict liquor laws, and I went to the liquor store a few times, and didn't get carded until one night. It was some older man who asked to see my id. Of course I showed it to him, so I could get the liquor. I swear, people are weird about things like that and also cigarettes.

Even if you were 20, you're still not of legal age to buy alcohol.
I love to ask really young kids how old I look. The variety of answers is quite amusing. To some of them, 20 is ancient!

I'm 18 but people always think I'm 20 or 21... I guess it's the way I act.
My friend isn't even 16 yep and people think she's in her 20's! it's kinda crazy.

I'm 48, but I look 38.
The thing is, when I was 28, I looked 38. When I was 18, I looked 28. When I was 16, I could buy liquor without getting carded. Then, in my 30's, I stopped aging!
