I think the Democrats don't come close to to taking the prize.

But the Republican platform doesn't preach tolerance and that's the difference. Practice what you preach - don't find equality in becoming what you claim to hate.

NBC Says Marine Shot Dead Wounded Iraqi Prisoner

LONDON (Reuters) - A television pool report by U.S. network NBC said on Monday that a U.S. Marine had shot dead an unarmed and wounded Iraqi prisoner in a mosque in Falluja
The Iraqi was one of five wounded prisoners left in the mosque after Marines had fought their way in on Friday and Saturday. There was no immediate comment from the Pentagon (news - web sites) on the report.
U.S. forces launched an offensive one week ago on Falluja, and have gained overall control of the formerly rebel-held city, although scattered resistance remains.
The pool report by NBC correspondent Kevin Sites said the mosque had been used by insurgents to attack U.S. forces, who stormed it and an adjacent building, killing 10 militants and wounding the five.
Sites said the wounded had been left in the mosque for others to pick up and move to the rear for treatment. No reason was given why that had not happened.
A second group of Marines entered the mosque on Saturday after reports it had been reoccupied. Footage from the embedded television crew showed the five still in the mosque, although several appeared to be already close to death, Sites said.
He said one Marine noticed one of the prisoners was still breathing.
A Marine can be heard saying on the pool footage provided to Reuters Television: "He's ****ing faking he's dead. He faking he's ****ing dead."
"The Marine then raises his rifle and fires into the man's head. The pictures are too graphic for us to broadcast," Sites said. No images of the shooting were shown in the footage provided to Reuters.
The report said the Marine, who had returned to duty after being shot in the face a day earlier, had been removed from the field and was being questioned by the U.S. military.
Sites said the shot prisoner "did not appear to be armed or threatening in any way."

I'm sorry it made you cry, Delphine. It made me cry too. This whole war makes me cry. I'm guessing you're a teenager, the age I was at the tail end of the Vietnam War, another illegal, immoral war being fought for the wrong reasons, forcing young boys to become killers for no good reason.
And EverythingIsRent, once upon a time, before even I was born, there was a president named Harry Truman. He was the president who had to make the awe-inspiring decision whether or not to use the atom bomb to stop the war, knowing it would kill civilians, knowing it would unleash a new world of deadly weapons, knowing if he didn't, something just as bad could happen to us.
Unlike George Bush, Harry Truman had a sign on his desk that read: "The buck stops here." Does that explain the connection?

That is truly sad, everythingisrent, that you do not understand the historic meaning of "the buck stops here". It means that any action carried out under the commander-in-chief is ultimately the responsibility of the commander-in-chief. This attitude leads to the notion that a President will encourage moral behavior--and that if moral behavior does not occur, the President will take responsibility to insure that his military corrects said offenses.
However, we have NOT seen this responsibility by this administration. This President sees that he (or his administration or military) has done nothing wrong. One only needs to look at the question posed to him during the town hall debate--the one asking what mistakes he had made--to see that this President thinks everything is A-OK. He doesn't need to change a thing. He is sooooo perfect.
And, consequently, the most horrid, immoral actions are taking place in Iraq--all under the name of such a moral, righteous, "Christian" President.
God must be absolutely ASHAMED.
