From today's beliefnet. He's a disgusting hate mongerer.
Leave it Huckabee to revive that old blood libel equating being gay with pederasty and bestiality.

QUESTIONER: Is it your goal to bring the Constitution into strict conformity with the Bible? Some people would consider that a kind of dangerous undertaking, particularly given the variety of biblical interpretations.
HUCKABEE: Well, I don’t think that’s a radical view to say we’re going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we’re going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal. Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again. I think the radical position is to make a change in what’s been historic.

If he really wanted to protect marriage, wouldn't it make more sense to outlaw divorce and make adultery punishable by law?
Because that'd make everyone he knew a hypocrite?
There's no chance he can win, right? I mean. I would say there's no chance this man can win, but look at what we have now (assuming the elections were legit). Can we REALLY do worse? Surely not! Right?
"Can we REALLY do worse?"
Of COURSE we can.
As long as people can still be distracted by shiny things like gay marriage (for some) and Britney's suicide watch (for most), then of course we can do worse.
You honestly never know in these things jerby, but I seriously doubt that he will ever be President of the US.

I never underestimate the greater American contempt for homosexuality. Huckabee doesn't either, it seems. Nothing surprises me at this point.
Well, I have this gut feeling that our next President will be black or wears dresses.
Which means Guiliani has a chance! :P

"There's no chance he can win, right?"
I hope he won't, but I think he could.
I keep telling you, Huckabee is Satan!

It's alarming to me that in 2007 there isn't more alarm about this guy.
Lets not forget that the whole homosexuality=bestiality thing was the beginning of the end for Santorum.
From Salon.com:
Huckabee said that "the genius" of the Constitution is that it was built to be changed. On the other hand, he said, the Bible "was not created to be amended and altered with each passing culture."
"The Bible was not written to be amended. The Constitution was," Huckabee said. "Without amendments to the Constitution, women couldn't vote, African-Americans wouldn't be considered people. We have had to historically go back and to clarify, because there've been injustices made because the Constitution wasn't as clear as it needed to be, and that's the point."
What Huckabee, a former Southern Baptist minister, doesn't say: As historian Mark Newman writes, many Southern Baptists once "defended segregation in the sincere belief that it formed part of God's plan for the human race," and sometimes "cited biblical verses" in support of racial separation.

For what it's worth, I usually vote Republican and I would never in a million years vote for Huckabee. Same goes for Fred Thompson.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard this argument before:
2000: "Well if Bush gets the nomination, Gore will win for sure, no one in their right mind would vote for him."
1988: "Well if Bush gets the nomination, Dukakis will win for sure, no one in their right mind would vote for him."
1980: "Well if Reagan gets the nomination, Carter will win for sure, no one in their right mind would vote for him."
nope, he couldn't win......too many don't like him, and he won't get the nomination from his party....

"too many don't like him, and he won't get the nomination from his party...."
I agree, Elph. BUT, it does freak me out a little bit that so many do seem to find him worthy of attention. I just don't want to be where they are - ever.
How does he plan on doing this, since there's mention in the Constitution about the seperation of church and state?
I agree with Joe...noone thought either Bush would be electable, and Reagan was a joke in the beginning. I've been too disappointed too many times not to believe it could happen.
he's tied with mccain in sc. since it was moved in 1980 every single gop nominee has won sc. reagan, bush, dole & bush. if he wins sc, he's got momentum going into fl and he'll win that too. then things will really get ugly between then and super tuesday.
no one's thought any republican was electable since ike...actually no one thought he could win either. so i wouldn't count on your certainty about any candidate.
Huckabee will NOT be the GOP nominee.
because it's gonna be gore vs. thompson?
lol--I'm still holding out for Gore. If the Democratic convention were as deadlocked as it looks like the Republican convention will be, Gore could swoop in and get the votes, just like people are saying Jeb is hoping to do.
And the same people who were assured me Thompson would be the nominee were wrong about something else: Iraq.
Oops, as they say in the Bush White House, "mission misunderestimated!"
If he does win, I apologize in advance for S.C. As a resident, it shames me that anyone here would look up to this guy as role model. PAH-LEASE!!!
jeb? what are you smoking? and can i have some?
Ask what Jeb's smoking.
