Stockard, TJ's has a wine store right next to their regular store here in NY. Is that what you meant?
I think I may be getting senile.
No danmag, you're just drunk. But I love that about you.
No, Jane because we don't have tj's in WNY....I meant that here we have to go to a separate store than the grocery store. Does that mean you can still get 2 buck chuck? Lucky!
Well, it IS 4:00 after all...
I thought it was chopped beef too. But my excuse is that I don't drink, lol!
Thank God, Jane...because I was really feeling like an idiot!
I guess if you had never heard of it that's what anyone would think!
It's sort of hilarious because at the Trader Joe's I visit in Chicago, they're handing out wine samples in the grocery store pretty much every time I'm there.
Joe - I had no idea Trader Joe's is the same company as Aldi! I thought Trader Joe's was a California company and I always associated Aldi with a German company because I first shopped at them in Germany. Well, that explains all the Ritter Sport chocolate I always see at Trader Joe's.
I detest Aldi. Yes, they are cheap, but everything I've ever bought there was terrible. I would always give it another chance, especially in Germany where it would be open when most other stores have closed for the day or the weekend, but would then be disappointed. I thought it might be different in Chicago, but I went there once about eight years ago and never returned.

They have the freshest, most delicious jumbo frozen shrimp! I just thaw, rinse and eat it plain--it's really flavorful with or without cocktail sauce. Of course it also cooks up really well in a scampi and it's great for salads! There is a frozen butterfly shrimp meal I'll buy once in a while...it's in a garlic sauce and it's excellent.
Love their raw almonds.
The Cranberry Oatmeal Dunkers are fantastic, and so are the Candy Cane Joe Joes (available around Christmastime but they sell out quickly).
The only thing I'm not crazy about is their fruit. I'm better off at the regular supermarket or a fruit stand.
Mr. Matt, I don't like Aldi very much either. I can never find what I want in there. There's one next to my son's karate place and I can't believe all the super old people going in and out of that store!
I love when I have to wait in line to get in the TJ's wine store. But then again, it's so worth it! haha.
I'm not crazy about their fruit either. I have a tendency to get my produce from the grocery store near my apartment.
Candy Cane Joes.....mmmmmmmm
This thread is making me incredibly hungry.

Aldi's freaks me out...
All of their foods look odd.

Trader Joe's has amazing:
Frozen Beef Steak Burritos
Frozen Dumplings
Tuscan Bread
Pulled Pork
Microwave Mac n Cheese
God I love that store. Too bad the closest one is a half hour away...

YES! I used it to create my own shrimp pizza. I actually make my own pizza crust and then add:
Olive oil mixed with lemon juice, salt, pepper, fresh minced garlic and a dash of red wine vinegar lightly brushed over crust in lieu of tomato sauce
Trader Joe's frozen shrimp (thawed, of course)
Finely chopped fresh cilantro
Thinly sliced red onion
Capers
Freshly grated parmesan cheese
Best pizza I ever concocted and TJ's frozen shrimp was the inspiration.

At this moment I'd just like to thank Trader Joe's for their simple common sense in packaging brown sugar in a resealable plastic bag so it doesn't turn into a giant sugar brick in storage.
I was just in the new store in Princeton on Sunday. No more long drives to Philly, Mt. Laurel or Jenkintown. I'm crazy for their olive tapenade, gorgenzola tort and mushroom stuffed tortolina. Don't even get me started on the sourdough dinner rolls.

speaking of sourdough rolls, have any of you had the Rosemary/Olive Oil sourdough bread from Wegman's? It is to die for.

LOVE their sweet potato fries.
I'm going to join in the TJ's love! My 2 favorite things are their chocolate coated granola bars and the chocolate chip dunker cookies. I try not to buy the cookies very often, though, because they tend to disappear into my belly very fast...lol!
