A friend of mine is going down to Sahvanna (is that spelled right?) next weekend and I'm totally jealous........
We had snow just before Hallowe'en last year. It doesn't snow as often in England as I'd like, so it was very exciting to have thick white fluffy flakes settling merrily on the ground. :3
So my niece came round, as it coincided with a school holiday, and we built a snowman.
Uh, snow zombie. Snombie.
I love my snombie. I just have to bring him up whenever's comvenient. So when the conversation is about zombies or snow, really...
Weez, that is fantastic.
I used to be obsessed with those "Series of Unfortunate Events" books when I was little, and I remember one of them talked about this horrible film called "Zombies In The Snow." From now on, that's how I'll always picture them.
Absolutely LOVE the signature, by the way! (That thread made me laugh out loud.)
Awww, Schmerg! My daughter was also obsessed with Series of Unfortunate Events. She's in college but still says those are some of the best books she has ever read. She was outraged by the movie and it's lameness, though.
Urgh, I hated the movie! And the books from 10-13 were pretty dreadful, too-- it's like the author just got sick of writing.
I think the first books in the series are really clever and funny, though. And my family practically religiously listens to the "Series of Unfortunate Events" books on tape in the car-- especially the ones read by Tim Curry. He's fantastic.
WHAT?! Oh my, when I tell her that Tim Curry did the books on tape she's gonna FLIP!!
I HEART Tim Curry. I might have to listen to those just because of that...and because they come so highly endorsed by you all. :)
Oh, who *doesn't* love Tim Curry? Apart from anyone who was unnecessarily scarred by It as a child, obviously. XD
On an unrelated note, KS, I totally dig and I really really hope it gets sorted.

Yep Pennywise the Clown screwed me up for life. But then I discovered Rocky Horror and that totally made up for it. 'Cause honestly who doesn't love a sweet transvestite from transsexual Transylvania?
Yeah and I watched Annie every single day when I was little. Rooster!! But then I saw Pennywise in 4th grade and I actually went back to sleeping with a stuffed animal for a while. Scared me to death. I actually saw picture of him the other day and it made me shiver just a bit. Still a good movie though. Yikes!
Um, yeah. When I was in kindergarden and my sister was in 5th grade, she was really into horror movies. And she made me watch It. And then I made sure my mom checked the focett and shower before I ever went in a bathroom. Blood through the drains? AHHH!
Oh my gosh...the part where they find the guy in the bath tub and it just says IT on the wall....yeeeeeeeeeek. Yeah that still freaks me out!
Maisie I never watched those movies for that exact reason. That pyscho little doll...eewwww.
See, I didn't really like the movie of It. I read the book about a bazillion times (I was ill in bed for two days once and couldn't be bothered getting up to choose a new book, so read it three times in that two day period XD) and didn't rent the film until I was at least 19. And it didn't live up to what I loved about the book, and I was a bit too old to start developing a clown phobia, so it didn't impress me at all. Ah well. It means I can unreservedly find Tim Curry sexy and laugh at my friends when clowns come near and they all run away.

Maisie, while you were frightened of Chucky...I was absolutely terrified of Freddie Krueger. If someone can kill me while I'm sleeping...then I'm sooooo screwed!!!

I love being a girl because girls eventually grow up to be grandmothers. I hate to admit it but this grandmother was working on a costume two halloweens ago for my 18 month old grandson. He was CHUCKY. He looked just like him because of the hair length and the blue eyes. His parents were big fans of the movies. The costume was pretty authentic. I had to make the little pocket with the lettering for the overalls and my daughter-in-law used felt pens to get the stripes on the shirt in perfect order. He had little red shoes and a little rubber dagger. I wish I knew how to get a picture posted but for some reason I haven't been able to.

No he wouldn't have he was so cute and sweet and cuddly, but then I never saw the movie.
