Milk was by far my favorite movie of 2008. Sean Penn rocks. Once you watch it, rent the documentary "The Times of Harvey Milk". It's incredibly moving and paints an even more complete picture of the hero that was Harvey Milk.
Its the Trio with Mrs. Potts, Wardrobe, and I in Human Again that I am worried about. Both of them have mics and I'm not sure singing-wise I can get on the same level.
That's what I thought about right away when you mentioned the whole 'no mic' thing
Hey girls! Just wanted to pop in and say hi! I'm off to take Henry to karate!
Maisie- I think that is actually a really valid point and worth bringing up to your director. It's not really fair to expect you to hold your own against two others who are miked.
Ughhh if I had balls, I'd be sweating them off right now!! It's soooo hot in our office it's ridiculous!!!
I'm excited for the pictures!!
Well once agian Maisie doesn't get a mic. No matter how big my part I'm convinced I'll never get one. Even in this huge 450 seat theater.
Argh! I know how you feel-- I haven't been mic'ed in years. When I did "Guys and Dolls," they had ten mics and eight characters with singing solos. I had an entire song to myself, but did I get a mic? No! Not even just for that song! And I'm still the loudest thing on the DVD! And I'm not even a belter!
I also didn't get a mic when I was Mrs. Darbus in High School Musical, the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland, Inspector Jenkins in Employees Must Wash Hands Before Murder, Gay Wellington in You Can't Take It With You...
Dude. I just realized. The last time I got a body mic was the last time I was in Annie. And I played "Woman Number Three." I only had five lines!
Can't wait to see your pictures, Maisie!
I'm trying to make myself look as adorable as possible for my Seussical callback tonight. I'm wearing a green jumper with little green flats and my hair is lightly curled haha I look so little!
Cute, bb! Good luck with it! I always think callbacks are really fun...the excitement of auditions but you at least know you're getting SOMEWHERE.
You guys are making me miss theater so much!
Good luck BB and can't wait to see some pictures Maisie! Hope everyone had a lovely day! I feel that spring has finally sprung. (I probably just jinxed myself and we will have a snowstorm tomorrow....grrrrr)
I am really, really excited for pictures... somehow, I can't imagine your cast in costume, after watching your Chilis videos!
Aww, blondebaby, that sounds really cute!
Annie Get Your Gun cast list should have gone up today, but it didn't... I'm getting really anxious. If it's not up tomorrow, I'm punchin' people.
Is it too late for me to join in the girly thread? I'm currently in almost-tech-week for Get Smart (it's adapted from the first two episodes of the series. I'm Agent 99. It's good times.) and fiiiinally off-book. Almost.
IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO ENJOY BEING A GIRL!
Hey, a friend of mine was in Get Smart a month ago!
'Course not, VTG! Welcome! Get Smart sounds fun! Is it something that was already out there or did your director put it together?
Schmerg, I hope (for your sanity) that it's up tomorrow! Do you want Annie? I did Annie Get Your Gun wayyyyy back in the day and thought that part would have been awesome to play.
Schmerg: YAY! Did your friend enjoy it? It's a fun show.
JAG2: Thanks! :) It was already out there, but as I've lost the first half of my script (hence being ALMOST off-book), I can't tell you who adapted it, haha.
Good Luck BB! Can't wait to hear how it goes.
Can't wait to see the pics Maisie.
I had no idea Get Smart was a play..or is it a musical?

Hahaha, no, I only tried out for the ensemble! Only the kids in the show choir and madrigals group have any chance of getting a lead in my school's musicals, and since I can't dance or sight read, I'm not in either! Besides, they always cast the same kids in the leads. But I get great parts in the non-musical plays.
My sister tried out to play one of Annie's little sisters, though, and I really hope she gets it!
Oh, cool! Yeah, my school did the same thing which is why I shifted to community theater pretty early on. I was in the "good choir," but I couldn't bring it upon myself to kiss ass enough to get a good part. AGYG is one of those shows that has a lot of cool ensemble stuff though (in fact, I think I would have had more fun doing that than playing the mentally deficient Winnie). So good luck, and to your sister too. I'm sure you guys'll get it.
Interesting, VTG. I haven't heard of it but I think it might be cute for one of the theater camps I help at in the summer!

Guh- Mornin' ladies!!!!
Wow, I don't think I've ever been up early enough to be the first to post in the morning YAY!!!! Although this whole "up at the butt crack of dawn" thing wasn't exactly planned. I went out to dinner last night with my family (I'm back in VA for a few days) and they all wanted to go to this seafood place called Captain George's. If you've never heard of it...GOOD!!! That place was made specifically for Satan, his minions and anyone who doesn't have the willpower to just stick to their friggin' diet. I had never seen so many Snow Crab legs in my life. I felt myself get slightly chubby from simply smelling all of the fried food they had in that joint. Fried oysters, scallops, shrimp, flounder, tilapia. They probably would have fried a fisherman's boot if they had half a chance. By the time everyone had finished I was so bloated and felt extremely sick so I had to make a pit stop to the bathroom. I swear I threw up pretty much everything I had ever eaten in my entire LIFE!!!! I was hoping no one outside could hear me because they would have thought one of two things: "Wow I hope she's not bulimic" or "Oh my God someone call a priest!!!!"
Afterwards I looked in the mirror and I actually looked a little pale and or green. Which is quite strange since I'm black. That makes for a pretty picture...a half pale, half green black girl?! Call the media!!!
Anyway, when I got back to my cousin's house I tried to hang out with everyone but I still felt gross so I wound up in bed by 7 last night and woke up at 5 this morning. Getting 10 hours of sleep is AWESOME!!! I feel fan-friggin-tastic!!!
I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday...and a huge welcome to VTG!!!

You're up already?! I haven't gotten to bed yet !
I'm lucky I've never heard of that place (and I live down here!) I can't stand that type of food.
