Good afternoon ladies. I hope you're all doing well today.
For the past 4 nights for whatever reason my body clock has been completely thrown off because I can't seem to get to sleep until sun up. My brain won't turn off and I'm constantly thinking about utter crap until the morning. UGH!!!
Well I'm off to the gym, then to a fitting...claiming I'm fat (yeah yeah you get the point ) Have a great day girls!!!
BTW, Shannon brought up an interesting point earlier. She said that Rent will always hold a special place in her heart because it introduced her to musical theater. Just out of curiosity, what show(s) still make you all giddy because it was your introduction into this wonderful world of Theater Nerd-dom? Just wondering Mine is hands down Sweeney Todd with Angela of course and the film Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. I had a HUGE thing for Howard Keel!!
I think mine would have to be West Side Story. I haven't seen the revival but I would like to. The music just gets me!
Mine's Peter Pan. It was the first production I ever saw and it's still my favorite.
West Side Story got me interested in high school but my first Broadway show was the revival of "How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying", with Matthew Broderick and Megan Mullally. I will always think of it fondly...
mine is Hairspray. I was SO PISSED that it was going to close too! so, for christmas, my parents took me to see it :) I will ALWAYS remember that! I just LOVE Hairspray
Cabaret. I saw the movie in 7th grade and loved everything about it, and then saw a flier for a local community theater production a couple months later. I made my mom take me, and the rest is history. Since then I've been in the show twice and it's still my favorite.
JAG! I love Liza in Cabaret. Her eyes are piercing. She's fantastic.
I KNOW. That is one of my favorite performances ever on film, and because of it, Liza remains one of my favorite hot messes of all time (and I have a lot).
Thanks BB...I haven't even told you guys just how weird this guy is. But he always proves to me why I don't want to date someone who's specifically a "chubby chaser" or really into BBWs...cause he's got some really weird issues. Thanks, but no.
As far as shows...I'm not saying this is anywhere near my favorite show...but CATS was the first thing I saw live when I was three and I still remember parts of it.
The other ones that make me giddy are movies. Mary Poppins, Annie and Wizard of Oz I watched just about everyday.
I guess in a way Grease was mine... I was obsessed with the movie when I was little and ALWAYS wanted to be Rizzo! The show that turned me into a full fledged theater geek would have to Hairspray! That will forever be my favorite show.
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu
Oh ****, I love CATS. I don't even care who makes fun of me for it. "Skimbleshanks" is a delightful song and I challenge anyone to listen to it and tell me otherwise.
I'm sorry about your boy situation too, L, but it sounds like you've got your head on straight and know not to pursue it any further. Besides, you don't need a chubby chaser, you need someone who is a Larissa chaser and likes you for YOU, not because you fit his "type." Those guys always have major issues.
JAG- I know...I still do love parts of CATS, too. Not my fav, but there are definitely songs that will always make me happy. :)
And thank you. Yeah he's got serious food addictions and I think a food fetish. He kept asking to come over to my place and I finally said yes and he was all about it. Got my address and time to be there, but then said "Only if I can bring over McDonald's". (This is a a guy who eats more from McDonald's than you can ever imagine. It's both scary and disgusting...I haven't seen it in person, he just told me about it.) I said NO I'm trying to lose weight and I'm not eating that! And then all of a sudden he was too tired to come over. Really? Seriously? So you're giving up the possibility of getting some action over McDonald's? Nice. That lead to a bit of a discussion which lead to five days of silence. He finally talks to me today and ya know what he's only been talking about?? Food.
OVER IT
HAHAHA Jag I love Cats too! I played Victoria a few years back and it was such a fun show to be in. (And the film is FANTASTIC.) I think Schmergy has a thing for Cats too. Speaking of Schmerg, she's been MIA for a while now. This will not do.
Oh and also, our choreographer for Oklahoma just got done performing in the National Tour of Cats as Mungojerrie. I love him for that.
BB, what is the name of your chorographer? Because I think I may know him!

Nope. Lol
MY old dance teacher was just in the tour and I couldn't remember whether he played Mungojerrie or Mistoffelees....

oh wait, this was the first show that got us into theater? Hmm, well I love Hairspray, so that will be special for me, but I actually saw Beauty and the Beast when I was five but I don't remember that. I really consider Phantom my first show because I saw it my freshman year of high school on our orchestra trip, and that is what got me into theater.
Stockard, are you ready for American Idol? That was a dumb question, haha I know you are excited for the new Daughtry song! and I KNOW It will be amazing, especially when you compare it to the crap Paula will do tonight lol
EDIT: Kels, I'll read that after Idol tonight! My attention span right now is really small lol

Piano, I saw BATB at 5 and don't remember any of it either!
Me too. I think a truck hit me last night. My body is so bruised and sore from all the partnering we did at rehearsal last night.
BB, can you stand that it has been raining here for 9 STRAIGHT DAYS?? I desperately need a nice sunny drinking-on-the-front-porch kind of day. This is depressing as sh*t. No wonder we are all so tired!
Chicago's been especially rainy this spring, too. Yesterday was a gorgeous, sunny day and then suddenly the sky opened and it started pouring like a mofo...right at quitting time of course.
So far today it's sunny and gorgeous...I'm holding out for a good day...
oooh, newgirl, you're in Chicago? I lived there for two years and fell in love with that city. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chicago!
