I couldn't even begin to count my shoes. Some are in the garage in a bin, some are in a basket in the mudroom, some are in boxes under the bed, some are in the closet.......
I guessI'm pretty girly, but then again, I'm not. I guess I'm just a big mix. I usually just wear pants because I never have that many reasons to wear a dress. But, when I can, I will I also love the color pink. It is my favorite with black right next to it. However, I don't have a million pairs of shoes. I'd say about 10 or so, but I never am satisfied with what I have.
Oh, and I am definitely glad to be a girl today because I was at work and got a wonderful surprise. I went in the men's room because I needed to clean it up and check if it needed more paper products, and I found that one of the urinals had been broken literally in half last night. Thank god I don't work evenings or I probably would have been pissed instead of shocked and laughing a little.
I am LOL, because I was sure "Schmerg_The_Impaler" was a guy, and I thought this thread would be about cross-dressing.
Haha! Yeah, I probably should've picked a less masculine username... and avatar... and everything. People are always saying they imagine me to look like Terrence Mann, who's horribly creepy-looking, or (the icon I use on some other websites) Frollo from Hunchback of Notre Dame. And he's pretty darn terrifying-looking as well.
LaurenB, I always had a sneaking suspicion up until now that you were secretly my sister because of the username. But I guess this post assuages that...
Great, now I've been challenged... I'll have to find something crazy girly now. But I'll spring it at the least-expected moment!
SURPRISE!
It's a picture by Emmy Cicierega that I thought looked a bit like me.

Cutest avi EVER Schmerg!!!
My avi's obviously girly...but in that weird "I'll set you ablaze in the basement" kinda way.
I've already scared someone on the main board with my non-Javerrence-ness!
Shmerg, when I see your new av, I don't think of how un-Javert-like it is; I think of how un-impaler-like it is!

I'm late to this thread, too and haven't read it to see where it's been. I like shopping for new clothes. I enjoy wearing new things. I also have my own money, so the result is "me". I don't collect clothes because I travel often, so I'll often give things away when I get new things. I like the number of colors of lipstick and eye shadow you can get in America. I don't wear a lot of makeup, but I do accent. I like dresses and skirts and follow the "a woman should look like a woman" school of thought and dress to accentuate my femininity. That may not be for everyone, but it is for me. That's not saying I don't wear slacks at times. In other societies women sometimes think American women dress like men. I don't exactly agree, though I see what they mean. There are some women in America who do seem to dress like men.
Nuff fer now.
I love Schmerg's new avi!
And yes, I like to buy new make up. Even though I'm not that into make up. I went to Sephora the other day for a new Dior mascara, and was in there for like an hour.
I need to buy some Loreal deep set wrinkle crap, but it's like $30! WTF?
Why thank you!
And yes, it IS dreadfully un-Impaler-like. But then again... so am I. I got the name idea from the Spamalot program where half of it was for the fake Finald musical and the creative team included "Vlad The Impaler Wankel." I was like, "Ooookay, that's me!"
I'm the kind of person who refuses to be seen without at least touch of eyeliner and mascara. Even my family hasn't seen me without my hair and makeup done for the last three years!

"There are some women in America who do seem to dress like men."
Oh Krissy, that's only if you go to certain bars and clubs...LOL!!
But I understand what you're saying though there are some women who'd rather dress down than dress up most of the time, choosing to wear sweats and hoodies (which I am guilty of during those 4-6 days everyone needs to get as far away from me as possible). Like others have already said I rock a pair of Yoga pants like it's my job when I'm around the house cooking or cleaning. But when I'm out, depending what day it is, you can catch me in a graphic tee, skinny or flared jeans and a pair of Chuck Taylor's or I can swap my sneakers for heels and wear a blouse.
When it comes to actually "Dressing-up" for a date or just dinner, my style's a bit of a throwback. I scour the internet for vintage clothing, so a lot of my dresses and separates are from the 40's and 50's era. Pencil skirts, swing dresses, peep toe pumps, t-straps and Mary Jane's. Once I tried to do my hair in a pinup style, but then I looked a wee bit too skanky with the red lipstick, so I had to put it back down.
Tofu, I'm coming to your house for a make-over!!
Reading this thread I realized...I've never actually worn a gown.
I tend to dress down because I like to be comfortable, but I do really like observing fashion trends. I love the peach dress and gold Manilos Mira Sorvino wore to the museum event at the beginning of 'The Last Templar.' Experimenting with makeup is fun--application of eye shadow is still an evasive art.

"Tofu, I'm coming to your house for a make-over!!"
Sure, c'mon over...just be sure to B.Y.O.B!!!!!
You know that I always do!
Me too Schermg, me too. I'm a makeup junkie...I think I would literally die without eyeliner and blush (love the avatar, by the way).
tofu, I'm coming to make you over, too. Think of how fun that would be with tons of booze, makeup and clothes? It's heaven.
Tofu is making ME over - not the other way around!
And hence my lack of reading comprehension skills come out into the open. Either way, I'm crashing.
