Man, I wish I didn't live so far away. Weez is super far too!
Good luck tofu! Job searching is hard right now.
Speaking of jobs, I quit mine! I'm so happy, I work my last shift tonight.
Where are you, Shannon?
And YAY on quitting the job!
Bumbershoots? What's that?

I'm deep in the heart of Texas, y'all.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who started to sing that song that we all learned in Elementary School. If so...then yes I am a loser.
Well job hunting was fun...*sigh* This sucks because I love my profession but dammit I'm being replaced by computers for God's sake!!! But while I was in the city I did stop for some much needed coffee and a scone while I ripped off some WiFi. Unfortunately I didn't really see anyone cute there...just a guy that looked like death run over twice. So today will be classified as a BUST!!!
I don't think I ever learned that song Tofu. But I did learn the one that sang all the states in alphabetical order!! AND I can still sing it!! Yeah...
I remember that song.....
BB, I had to learn a song that was the greek alphabet in order.
Oh, I thought that 'bumbershoot' meant umbrella! Like in that Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang song... "Me old bamboo, me old bamboo, you better never bother with me old bamboo, you can have me hat or me bumbershoot, but you better never bother with me old bamboo!"
Yeah... that film was my childhood, and it doesn't hurt that Michael Ball and Raul Esparza both played Caractacus onstage... heh..
Shannon, congrats on quitting! But it'll be so weird for me to NOT think of you as the girl who works at Target!
Today we learned an awesome song in German class. It's called Das Doofe Fischlied. The lyrics, translated into English, mean:
The dumb guy is here
The dumb guy is dumb
Give the dumb guy a fish.
And they say the Germans have no sense of humour!
The dumb guy is here
The dumb guy is dumb
Give the dumb guy a fish
Love.It.
Yep. The second and third verses talk about dumb women and dumb children! They all get fish, too.
The song's meant to help us learn adjective endings in nominative, accusative, and dative case for each gender. Or something.
Schmerg, bumbershoot actually does mean umbrella - I googled it after maisie mentined it.
Who do you have for German?
LOL I googled it too Stockard! And then I thought "Is Maisie eating umbrellas?"
My German teacher came to the school last year after our previous teacher quit. She was super lenient last year because she came in partway through the year, and let the kids get away with anything. The kids in my German 5 class have all known each other since first grade (some of us since kindergarten), and the class can be really crazy and loud and never does any work. This year, the teacher really tried to crack down and be strict, even though she's not a mean person by nature at all, and it doesn't work because no one takes her seriously. The class is just chaos, people deliberately being horribly behaved and the teacher yelling all the time.
The only thing I can think is that since mushrooms are sort of shaped like little umbrellas that's why they call them that?
I don't like mushrooms so I wouldn't like them, even deep fried.
I would probably eat anything if it was deep fried.

BB, was it the "Fifty Nifty United States"? By the time we got around to Michigan I was totally lost until we made it to South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas. I think I learned that song in 3rd grade...14 years ago!!! OMG!!!
OH MY GOD TOFU THAT'S IT!!!! Yeah I learned it in 4th grade and still remember it! If I was good at math I'd count how many years that was LOL
Schmerg, who was the German teacher that retired? Was it that really heavy lady with red hair? I can't remember her name.
Is the new teacher young? I would HATE to be teaching that class! LOL!
Oh my gosh, did anyone other than me have to learn a song in kindergarten with a chorus that went, "Christopher Columbus, Christopher Columbus, he was a man?" Because that's been in my head all day. It had the catchiest tune ever.
I do not remember kindergarten, Schmerg.
