Bah! I wish we got snow, Clever! send it to us! I have heard that we are getting everything from an inch to nine to even a foot! I expect nothing. Of course, being from Virginia, the whole world closes if we even get half an inch.
When I lived in Virginia Beach even the mall would close if there was an inch of snow.
lol! I meant Im over snow in general. I grew up with sunshine all year so the snow was a new exciting novelty when I first moved to NY. Now I hate the sight of it.
I just like having snow for the holidays :0)
We have snow, a good three or four inches! I finally met our neighbours for the first time last night when I opened up the door to check how deep it was getting, and they saw me and announced they were going to build a snowman in the middle of the road. This being 12.30am, I thought that sounded perfectly reasonable and went out to join them.
We ended up drinking wine, chatting, and singing Christmas songs instead, which was nice in a different way. My family have been a bit surprised at me DRINKING WINE! and SOCIALISING WITH THE NEIGHBOURS!, but when I pointed out I was lured out by the promise of a 1am snowman, they understood. XD
I'm honestly not exactly sure if the buses were running or not this morning, but after being out until the early morning, I awarded myself a snow day and stayed home in bed, which was very nice indeed. And while there's still a lot of snow out there, it looks like it won't be getting in the way of my final trip to La Cage aux Folles tomorrow evening.
This is a freakin' GREAT weekend, y'all! And it's ONLY JUST BEGUN!
So yay snow! :3
We are not having snow and will be lucky to get the remains of the snow storm. All it is has been is single digits and sub-zero wind-chill. Not fun.
Lack of eating, sleeping, and warmth I found myself completely dazed after work and took a nap in a Target cafeteria. I woke up fearing if people were watching me or I would get in trouble. Then I realized I was at Target and there was no way even at my worst that I would be the worst incident the Target employees crossed today.
Stock- No kidding DC is freaking out. I was supposed to fly back to Indiana tomorrow morning at 10. They cancelled my flight TODAY at noon!!! WTF!?!?!
Bunch of freakin' pansies.
It's tiiiiiime for embarrassing stories with Schmerg_The_Impaler!
So, yesterday, I went to see CATS at a local high school-- it's pretty nearby, and I've seen about five other shows at that school, so I didn't think it would be a problem. Snow was predicted, but not until late at night (around midnight).
Now, I don't have my license, and I don't have a cellphone, but I was told that the play would be over at ten, so my dad was going to come pick me up at ten-- no problem, we've done this zillions of times.
When I went outside after the play, it had already snowed several inches. There was snow everywhere, and it was freezing. The play had also ended twenty minutes early, but I couldn't call my dad to tell him that because I had no phone, and the crowd was too thick for me to push my way back in because the entire theatre was sold out.
I waited outside for an hour for my dad to come. I was not wearing appropriate clothes for winter, so my entire hair was FROZEN. It was entirely made of icicles. My coat was covered in snow and I was wearing high heels, so all this snow got inside and my feet really hurt. I couldn't go back inside, because I knew that the second I did, my dad would show up, and get ticked off because I wasn't outside (especially since you can't see the parking lot from inside the school because of the shape of the building).
After an hour, though, the director and the president of the drama club left (they were the last people there), and they were really upset to see me out there, obviously freezing and distraught (and since I'm also sick, that made me look even more pitiful). They kept offering to drive me home, but I said no-- then they offered to let me use their phones, so I tried calling my house, but it kept ringing without ever going to the answering machine. Then, I called my parents' cell phone but the same thing happened. This happened on two different people's phones.
Finally, I called my best friend and asked her to come pick me up, and the director and the drama president left. After a few minutes... my parents showed up! I had to call my best friend to tell her she didn't have to worry.
The car ride home took AN HOUR AND A HALF rather than the usual twenty minutes because of horrible snow and ice. My dad had to get out and help push four different people's cars, and then a team of five people had to push our car up a hill. It was terrifying... we kept sliding and we all thought we were going to die, hahaha. Basically, it was a super-terrifying and harrowing experience, but it's a good story!
Ladies-- I've got just one final left on Monday which I'm relatively confident over ( but of course I'm staying in for the weekend and studying anyhow) so I thought I'd come say hi and check in.
SO I told you girls I got the crush on the teacher and it went away, it became clear there were residual feelings when one day my kids decided I liked him and they were playing the teasing game and it was bugging me. but whatever, anyway. I was giving out my christmas gifts to the guys I work with that- and I go to give him his...
..and he just looks up at me and says "I really like this, Thank you, you my dear, are all heart"
Best. Compliment. Ever. I really just died
Schmerg, that story made me want to go out and buy you a cell phone!! I was getting cold just reading it. Are you feeling ok today?
Clever- That's very true, and actually now I have no idea when I'm leaving, but I have a lot I can get done, so it's all good. I think I'm gonna clean and workout and then make some "blizzard brownies" to toally negate the workout.
Schmerg- OH NO!!!
Shh- Awwww :)
Ooooh I have a few other things to share.
I had a phone interview for a job that I REALLY want. I have a friend in the division I would work in and my roommate works there. I think it went well!!! :)
Also, I'm on the Board of the theatre I work with so much and I started a blog for the theatre, but really to promote the shows we're working on. So "Reefer Madness: The Musical" is our next show and it opens at the end of January. I've been doing posts like the history of Reefer Madness and funny definitions of reefer according to urbandictionary.com. BUT I'm SUPER excited about the most recent post. I scored a short interview with one of the writers of the show!!!!! Sooooo check it out! :)

Boys are so stupid
So, I haven't talked to my guy since he spent the hour in my store on Tuesday. He won't respond to me on facebook chat at all or to the message I sent him... yet he just commented on my status about trying to decide what to get for dinner tonight... I AM UTTERLY CONFUSED! And sad, because it looks like I somehow messed things up yet again.
*le sigh*
I don't know what to think.... he spent all that time in the store and I made him laugh like crazy... things seemed to be going smoothly but now- nothing.
I guess I was maybe too spazzy and I was foolish to get my hopes up, but he pretty much asked me out and made it seem like he wanted to be with me. I don't get it.
I don;t know where to go from here really....
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu
That sucks and yes, boys are stupid.
I just got back from Wicked and dinner with the family. It was good but I got tons of material for hilarious comments by audience members.
Still cold as ice here but no snow. Bleh!
Gotta love Facebook stalking! Yeah, for me the tolerance for facial hair totally depends on the person... he pulls it off :-P
So, I am actually slightly less confused because my mom told my stepdad the whole story (um, thanks mom?) and he said that in guy world four days without talking is nothing... and that if he is still commenting on my statuses then I shouldn't be too worried. And also I am starting to think that there is something wrong with facebook chat....

Ohh, sweetie I'm sorry the men are being so confusing, I think it's just in their DNA to be oblivious.
So we're getting snow now in good ol' Westchester, and it would be my luck that the maintenance people still have not come by to fix the window that we can't close. I'm trying to get over this silly flu bug and it's almost impossible if I have to keep re-insulating the window above my desk with a towel and ducktape.
Thanks university, I hope somebody doesn't get into the maintenance building and cough on all the doorknobs.
I am trying to remove as many pieces of clothing and items from my room and with just 1/4 of my mission done I barricaded my room with my junk.
Schmerg! That story is AWFUL! Thankfully you are ok!
Kels, good luck with this new one!
Star, get better soon!!!!!
strummer, why are you getting rid of so much?
And ok ladies, I made that one scarf and it turned out to be nice at the end! So then I found a video on how to crochet a hat and I thought I would treat myself to one. Nope. Turns out it was instructions to make a BERET! so I added a pom pom to the top and I'm going to give it to my brother's gf. I'll take a pic because it looks really good! Not I'm making a beanie for me and then a few things for my family.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Piano, they taught my 13 year old's whole class how to crochet and they are all making scarfs for men in a homeless shelter for their service learning project. Sadly, his scarf looks like a giant handkerchief. It's very square for some reason...
