LOL! The Spice Girls is almost as bad as the Osmonds!
Although I remembered after I typed that that when I was around 4 my parents took me to see the Carpenters. I even remember what I wore.
I saw the Spice Girls on their big reunion tour a couple years ago, too...I'm not ashamed!
That's ok JAG, I'm ashamed enough for the both of us.
My first concert was Cheap Trick. Swiftly followed by Journey.
That's pretty lame...my son's first concert when he was about 10 was The Fratellis. Much cooler, imo.
My first non-child concert was in 9th grade - The Police with Flock of Seagulls opening.
Now THAT is an excellent concert!!!!
I have to jump in here and say there is absolutely NOTHING lame with a Cheap Trick or Journey concert! I LOVE and ADORE Steve Perry.
Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch.
Puppies are babies in fur coats.
Tinfoil...The Terrorizing Terminator
*Sigh* I guess I'll admit it now. In 5th grade, my parents took me to DC and I thought we were just going to go shopping with my cousin but then they bought two subway tickets to go to Chinatown and I got sad because I wanted everyone to go. Then they were like, you're going to see Britney Spears and apparently I flipped LOL So, that was my first concert.
LOL Girly!!! I was a massive Journey fan back in the day...I wonder what ever happened to Steve Perry???
My mom just asked about Steve Perry the other day. Apparently he got hip surgery, did a couple songs for movies and disappeared. Dude can SING.
I've also seen Britney three times. BUT I have lots of hard rock and metal concerts to back up my cred.
I just got my mid-term back in Spanish and got a B. Good, I will not get hassled during Super Bowl Sunday from Mumsy about how much money she spent for my education. Speaking of mother, she's finally getting a job promotion. Now I have to find presents for her on top of my sister's birthday present for next week.
Outside of the concerts for all things to do with PBS (Sesame Street/Barney at Radio City/Sherry Lewis/The Big Comfy Couch) I believe the first concert I saw out of utero (my mom tells me I was kicking up a storm while pregnant at a Bob Dylan concert) was The Beach Boys when I was about 6. It was Halloween, my mom fell ill so my Dad took me instead while I was still in my skeleton costume. In a sea of Hawaiian shirts of middle-aged folk, I was the most hardcore person there.

My first concert was Christina Aguilera in downtown Miami when I was 5 years old. She had JUST gotten famous and it was only die-hard Chirsitina fans, in this tiny no-seat venue. I'm pretty sure I left early because I got really tired, but I'm REALLY proud of my first concert. I miss the days where I lived in a big city and didn't have to drive 3 hours to Nashville or Atlanta to see a neato concert.
I've never been to a legitimate 'concert'... though my dad's a professional saxophonist so I've been to like hundreds of his concerts. But honestly, I don't really like many bands or artists-- I pretty much just listen to cast recordings and a select few classic rock/oldies groups.
We are so slacking on this thread. I have nothing valuable to add, but...
I am so sick of the Pull-ups "Do the Potty Dance" commercial.
Have you seen the Evian babies skateboarding ad? It's HORRIBLE. And I know people who think it's CUTE. I hope it hasn't tainted your side of the Atlantic as well as ours, but I'm sure YouTube'll hook you up if you're curious.
... yeah, we're slack. Ah well. :3
That sounds like the Rugrats meets Rocket Power, Weez. Have you seen those shows across your side of the pond?
The psychology department at my school is offering students to make $8 an hour to be psychological experiments. I am actually contemplating doing this except it will be all Freud and I do not want to start blaming my parents right now. I save that for when it is necessary.
I am sick of 'He Went To Jared', 'Kiss begins with Kay with the serial killer boyfriend who in his monotone voice pronounces everlasting love with a hideous piece of jewelry while they are stuck in a cabin in a rainstorm', and the 'Vermont Teddy Bear' if only because I hate Valentines Day with a passion but the commercial is playing on ESPN centered on males to buy girls this sort of thing.
Bleh, I'm with you strummer. I'm just sick of February. March cannot get here soon enough, more particularly Spring Break. I get to usher Wicked when it comes here as much as I'd like for free and it'll be here for about 3 weeks so that is a plus for March and on Spring Break I'm going to NYC and then when I get back, I have the Ingrid Michaelson concert <3
Oh yeah, the Jared and Kay commercials are annoying as all hell too.
I'm not sure whether or not I love or loathe the girl with the monotonous little voice on the fish stick commercial.
"Minced? You feed me minced? You ever catch a minced fish?"
