Hi Ladies,

Not much to report here. I was in NYC 2 weeks ago and had a great time. Every time I visit, I want to move there. But dang, too expensive.

I saw a Letterman taping, Promises, Promises, In the Heights, and The Metal Children (off Broadway) while I was there. Shopped, ate, hung out with friends...all together fabulous.

It's been especially rainy/stormy in Chicago the last few weeks, but I'm just so glad it's summer in the city. :)

Hope all is well with y'all!

Aw, it's been so long.

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

I miss tofu. happiness :D

This thread seems so long ago, at least for me.

I just finished my internship with my worst day luckily being my last day. First, I hassled about the legitimacy of my parking permit, forced to use every quarter in my sight for my parking meter, and lastly, I got yelled at over the phone by a stranger, seriously he refused to give his name to me. Luckily my supervisor was nice enough for me to leave 2 hours earlier. I went home to soak in the pool and break open a bottle of tequila.

I am glad the internship is over if just for the fact I can devote more time to my actual paying job at a grocery store. I am raking in the hours but it is pretty tiring. Working with that much food has curbed my appetite, plus the moment I get home I go to bed and take a nap.

I am considering keeping the job when I go back to college since it is not that far away, like 15 minutes at the most, but I wonder if it is a good idea to balance work when I am beginning my Senior(!) Thesis and trying to finish my gen-ed credits, especially when this course involves computer science. Maybe weekends, I need to work that out.

I hope you are all just enjoying life and any sort of changes have been positive.

Stockard, you're lucky you can lay out at the pool! I have to wear sunscreen every day and make sure my shoulder, chest , and back are covered because I burn so easily. I can only go night swimming since I'm so damn pale!

strummer, working just on weekends sounds like a solid plan. I wish I could get a job.

My summer just made a turn for the worst. I got a phone call yesterday saying that my admission to college will most likely be revoked. I won't know for sure yet until they call me again, which they were suppose to do today. I flew down for orientation and got my classes and everything and now I most likely won't attend college. I cried for hours about it because I have no other plans and I worked so hard to get there. I was going to get my BFA in musical theatre there...

Wowza... I was just thinking about this thread.... Im glad its back, y'all are cheaper then the therapy i should be getting :p

I just got back from spending 5 months in vegas. I went out there to follow the man i loved, who then became one of my best friends.... Who is now not speaking to me (i dont know why). That is the condenced, broadway jr verson of my soap opera life.

Also i had too much to drink at karaoke last night... I was fine until my friend brought out the wine :p

Not much new with me...trying to be a realtor in a very ****ed up real estate market. Hanging by the pool, drinking too much and just generally being an unproductive member of society.

Aw I've forgotten how much I miss schmerg and all of her nerdiness!

danmag, I hear the devil gives a nice chunk of change for souls. :)

So I'm caving, and finally getting a facebook :P When I do get around to making it, y'all should friend me!

And as for this whole college situtation, there are three different community colleges I'm looking at and I'm visiting two of them tomorrow. School starts in like two weeks for most places! AND I have to get an appartment, which is crazy. I feel too young and too small for all of this. I just keep thinkng "You must give up the life you planned in order to have the life that is waiting for you." Word Joseph Campbell. Word.
