My local (and credible) critic (Washington Post) gave it a bad review today. He said it was dated and charmless.

he was great in Punch Drunk Love...

but i think that was more a case of a mediocre actor being improved by a great director.

i will say this though....

billy madison is an excellent comedy. i will defend that film to the death.
