re: I LOVE Where I Live and I HATE Where I Live

I love living in AUSTRALIA because it's not America (sorry Guys), because we have the world's best beaches in my home town, because our accent is not lingering, and is easily lost, because of our sense of national pride.

I hate living in AUSTRALIA because George Bush and John Howard (yeah I know the name of your leader, but did you know the name of ours...your third biggest ally in the recent war?) would like to turn Australia into another state of America, because I don't live in NYC, because no one has even heard of Sondheim, because our Government sucks...

I love living in POLAND because the people are amazingly friendly, resilient and hardy, because English is so valued, because people like me just because I speak English, because I love living in Warszawa (Warsaw), because everything is great.

I hate living in POLAND because there are too many Catholics, because they are extremely homophobic and I can't talk to everyone...

I love living in NYC because I can decide at 7pm that I want to see a Broadway show, and then at 8pm, I'm usually seeing it!

I hate living NYC because there are too many people who don't understand the meaning of "personal space".
JOHN LITHGOW I just realized, your last name is Butz! Both "Norbert" AND "Butz" are in your name! You must have gotten picked on a lot as a child!

re: I LOVE Where I Live and I HATE Where I Live

I love NYC for the people, food, theatre, architecture, excitement, energy, vitality, creativity, arts and artists, the rich, the poor, the beautiful, the ugly. Everything. All the time.

I hate NYC because I will never, EVER be satisfied living anywhere else and I feel a little trapped by that.

"I hate living in South Carolina because:

1) No professional theatre
2) Full of rednecks
3) Full of biggots

I like living in South Carolina because it has a lot of great scenery"

Spider, I think you perfectly summed up life in SC. There's also just a whole lot of general ignorance around these parts too.

I love Seattle because:
It's a great city to be poor in.
My apartment rocks.
This is the most beautiful city in North America in the springtime.

I hate Seattle because:
The theater scene sucks.
Everyone here is pathologically polite and "nice" and it's all just to hide a passive-aggressive chilliness of the soul.
People here think they are so cool, but they're kind of behind the times and pathetic.
The weather in the winter SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

I love NYC because everything is here - especially theatre.

I hate NYC because it can be very inconvenient. I hate the nasty people, the loud people, clueless tourists, the parking garage across the street that makes noise 24/7, and it's very easily to be distracted.

I HATE living on Long Island because its so expensive!
A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it, but all she really dreams is to make someone else feel the way she did when she first saw a dancer. And that is so beautiful-Anonymous

I LOVE living in Los Angeles because...

I can wear flip flops year-round
A light sweater is all you need
It gets cold at 60 degrees
I can drive, and I love driving

I HATE living in Los Angeles because...

It ain't Broadway
I can't find a voice teacher I like
TRAFFIC
Rush hour TRAFFIC (they are two different things, mind you)
The 101 Freeway, the 10 freeway, 110 freeway...

re: I LOVE Where I Live and I HATE Where I Live

I LOVE living in CT because in the fall, the trees are so beautiful!

I HATE living in CT because it's BORING, dull, not NYC, filled with close-minded people with spoiled children. Basically, fall is the only thing I like about this place.

I LOVE living on Long Island 'cause LI theater is booming and showing no signs of stopping...and it's a 30 min train ride to the city.

I HATE living in my specific town 'cause it's a bubble less than two miles long

re: I LOVE Where I Live and I HATE Where I Live

I love living in a suburb of chicago because it's safe, comfortable, my family is here, and there's great theatre (like pre-broadway stuff)

I hate living here because I'm far from the city (nyc) and things that I love.
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D

re: I LOVE Where I Live and I HATE Where I Live

I love living in NYC because there is so much to do and such great theatre.

I hate living in NYC because when people I know come into town, it's always "Let's meet up for dinner" (eg, "Take me to the most expensive restaurant on the Upper West Side and pay.") or "Let's catch a show" (eg, "Tickets to whatever's the hardest thing to get into in town and they had better be front row.")
