He's so funny-looking! And short.
He was signing copies of his book of screenplays at BookExpo America at the Javits Center in NYC (I'm a bookseller - that's why I was there). I told him I was a big fan of Hairspray and he asked "the movie or the play?" (silly goose - he obviously didn't realize it was a musical!) and I said "both!". It was fun.
But the real highlight was meeting Kim Cattrall!!! She was signing posters for her new book (about sex, of course!). She was incredibly sweet. I shook her hand and told her what a fan I was - it was a very surreal moment. I shook Samantha's hand!!!
Anyone else have any super-fab celeb moments?
I had the privilege of working with Waters some years ago - I adore the man.

Weird. I met Mink Stole last weekend.
VERY friendly.
Funny...I met John Waters this weekend with Tab Hunter and Joyce DeWitt. Guess which one of them people thronged around?
I don't even want to think of those three in a group.
I met Ethan Hawke last week, after a performance of "Hurlyburly". He couldn't have been more gracious or polite. Such a nice guy.
A half-hour later, when the crowd had left, Parker Posey emerged from the stage door, wearing no more than a red nightgown and slippers. She was hawking a cell phone in one hand, and a cigarette in the other. When I saw her, I thought to myself: "Only Parker."
I also met George Clooney at Carmine's, and he was very nice. I met Salma Hayek at JFK. She was testy, but nice enough to sign an autograph on a napkin.
After Ashley Judd and Jason Patric gave a couple of fans (my girlfriend and I) some moments of their time, Ned Beatty storms out of the stage door and literally growls at us.

I actually DID meet Mink Stole, Joey, but whatever. You can not take people seriously and make fun of them and hurt our feelings but we don't care. I mean they don't care.

One can only wonder what Mr. Waters thought of Suzycat.
I can only speculate, but perhaps, "My, she's tall..."
Oh Namo--you're such a sensitive soul. But it's true--I sent you a PM with the details
Joyce DeWitt got more attention than John Waters or Tab Hunter. Tab was not pleased.
my ex-roommate in NYC was into early John Waters flicks.
it was thru him i was introduced to the world of waters and his zany cast of characters.
mink stole was hilarious in those films.
and of course there was divine...
rath - lol I'm 5'3'!
Kim, by the way, was wearing a stunning shade of chartreuse.
Waters and Stole are both SO nice.
I, like Rath, have had the chance to work with Waters (and Mink!), and they're both awesome.
