Congratulations, darlymuffkins!! Break a leg...and watch out for those 110 cornets, they're a DOOZY.
HA . . . I shall try.
Again, thanks for the kind words and encouragement everyone. I really do appreciate it. **HUGS**
I just got back from the call back and it went well. I am 99.9% sure this one guy got the part of Harold Hill, and if he gets it, I am going to be upset. Not because he got the part over me (I honestly don't care . . . just as long as I am in the show) but the director repeated over and over and over again that if there are a lot of scheduling conflicts for the summer, you are not going to get a main part. But, this guy was the only one the director paired with different women to read for Harold and I know for a FACT that he is going to be gone most of the summer. He was also in OKLAHOMA! at the same theatre last year and he told me that he didn't audition for it and was asked to come to a call back because they heard him sing before (which he got the part of Will). Now, does anyone else think that is wrong?
But, besides that . . . I can't wait to hear the results.

Eh, that's the drama of community theater (or any theater, really).
Honestly, most of the time it's more about who you know than anything else. Once you get your foot in the door, you'll be set.
True. But, no one else was given a chance to read for Harold. Oh well. What's done is done. Like I said, as long as I am in the show I will be satisfied.
Yeah, but that is how theaters work. I had friends audition for WIzard of Oz one year...they invited one girl to call backs as a special audition. It is basically crap! I still hope you get it!
Fan. F***ing. Tastic! All the best, DJ. And remember, Eulalie McKechnie Shinn is the BEST role in the whole show.
Mayor Shinn: And I don't want to hear a POOP out of you, woman!
Mrs. Shinn: I think he means peep.
I know it doesn't seem fair, but you have to remember that they are trying to find the best person for the role. If that means bringing in someone who couldn't make the initial audition or has some conflict that they can work around (believe me, there is plenty to rehearse in MM without Harold Hill at rehearsals). It sucks, but you can't blame the actor. "That's the show bizzzzz." Good luck, though.
Oh, I will never blame the actor. Ever! I was just venting. But, it's cool. Promise.
If the other guy gets the part, wait til opening night, then, just before he makes his first entrance, whisper in his ear, "You got the part I wanted. Don't fu(k it up."
Put's 'em right on edge.
Congrats on your call back! Glad to hear it went well. Can't wait to hear the results.
And everyone's right...it's a great show.
"Yee-gawds"!
Go Spidey go!!!
Be sure to let us know about the results.
