I'd say that's a good reason to terminate her.
Oh yeah, and never ever do shots of Parrot Bay. That was my roommate's idea, and it's soooo gross. You know how you can sometimes taste fumes of things if they are strong enough? Well, this in shots tastes like nail polish remover. It was so gross. And to this day, I'm not sure how I survived SoCo.

Posted: 1/23/09 at 1:14pmMmmm soco and lime
#153re: I hate being a young adult ager
Posted: 1/23/09 at 1:19pmI don't even know what soco is. Maybe I'm not as good of an alkie as I thought I was.

It's Southern Comfort. I've taken an irrational disliking to it since the advertising campaign featuring a lot of smug people in bars and clubs asking for a "SoCo" please. XP

Posted: 1/23/09 at 1:56pmOHHHHH! Duh. Yeah, I can't drink that stuff.

Stockard, get out of all the teenager and young adult whine threads!
Go start your own "I hate being a MILF" thread.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
This has actually turned into the drinking thread, so it's pretty appropriate for me to be here.....LOL!

Oh. Well, in that case, count me in.
So, what are we all drinking about?
#159re: I hate being a young adult ager
Posted: 1/23/09 at 2:55pmReg, big LOL at the MILF thread!

Yeah, that was pretty funny!
Reg, why do we need a reason to drink? I never do anyway.
But I can't drink yet, because I have to take Henry to karate (yeah!) in an hour.

I've never actually tasted alky-hol. When I was in Germany, my friends' parents kept trying to get me to drink, but I just didn't find the idea appealing. Which is probably good, I guess.
Stockard, Henry is an adorable name.

Stay the way you are, Schmerg. Not to sound condescending (honest), but I think you're on your way to becoming a truly remarkable woman.
And I agree, Henry is a great name. Meant to mention it before.

Thanks, Schmerg! We like it!
And good girl on the not drinking thing. You have your whole life to ruin your liver like the rest of us!

Posted: 1/23/09 at 4:20pmSchmerg, I didn't begin drinking until halfway through my first year of college. Please don't start in high school, at least not heavily haha

Haha, I don't plan on drinking anytime soon, or possibly even ever. It doesn't seem like my kind of thing. I only like to drink things that are totally saturated with sugar and DON'T do things to my brain functions. I'm insane enough as it is.
Reg, I don't read that as condescending at all-- it kind of made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Posted: 1/23/09 at 4:33pmYeah, as I've learned, drinking is not everything. So good for you for not following the flow. It is still fun to get a little tipsy occasionally, but not all the time. Sure, as I mentioned, I did start heavily drinking in college, but I made sure I only did it on the weekends, so I could focus on school. That was definitely enough for me.

Schmerg good for you and not taking that first sip!!! Like Marianne, I waited til college to really get going. Mind you I did sneak a couple drops of Kahlua in my morning cocoa during Junior and Senior year on occasion but nothing ridiculous that would get me into serious trouble.
OMG I'm just now realizing how bad an influence I am. CRAP!!
"Mmmm soco and lime..."
Blondebaby just because you said that I'm starting to salivate!! Soco is the sh*t!!!
Since this thread has obviously become the BWW-AAA (Anti Alcoholics Anonymous) I'll get the ball rolling: What's everyone's favorite drink after a crappy day?
Mine: White Russian or a Manhattan

Posted: 1/23/09 at 4:37pmTofu, we've got to stop dragging booze and BBQ into other people's threads.
#169re: I hate being a young adult ager
Posted: 1/23/09 at 4:42pmI like Malibu Bay Breezes and Long Island Iced Tea. When I don't need to drink hard stuff, I'm content with Smirnoff Citrus Twist. Actually, I'll drink almost anything as long as it is sweet. I hate beer.

Ah, but all this talk of booze and BBQ makes me feel at home-- and less out of place as a (technical) Southerner on a board full of New Yorkers.
*Drinks blueberry pomegranate or cran-blueberry juice*

In that case: I'm mostly a wine drinker, but I do enjoy a well-made gin gimlet. Also Manhattans. I'm not ashamed to admit still liking cosmos, but I am ashamed to drink them anywhere other than in my own home.
And I literally cannot end the evening without a glass (or two) of port.

Oh, and Scotch. How could I forget Scotch?
My first taste of Johnnie Walker Blue was literally life-changing.

Mojitos.
Miller Lite.
Margaritas.
Shots of Hornitos.
Pom. Martinis (as already mentioned)
C****nay.
That is all.
I'm cracking up that all those stars popped up in the word c****nay!!!!
