capt'n... i'm so sorry that crap happened to you. that's a really sucky situation and you have my virtual hugs. there's probably noth ing i can say that will make you feel better, but know that sometimes there are potholes on the road of life... and you get through them. that's life, it sucks and you find a way to move on (even though it's hard and it hurts). besides, who needs a mercedes anyway?

I'm really sorry you're going through all of this. I went through a very similar situation about 10 years ago. I moved in with a friend who little by little started revealing his attraction for me and tried to make my life a living hell because I didn't reciprocate those feelings. But then again I just moved in with another friend so it was not a big deal.

I think your big mistake was to even move in with him in the first place knowing that he already had feelings for you. He was obviously trying to buy you with material things and when you didn't respond and actually threw someone else in his face and brought them to the apartment for dinner that was the straw that broke the camel's back for him.

You should have never accepted that Mercedes as a gift. You knew where he was coming from by giving you that.

Now, I don't know the circumstances as to how or why you lost your job. Did he give you the job also and then fired you?

Anyway, we all live and learn. I hope everything in the end works out for you.

We all make mistakes, but what is important is recognizing them, admitting them, and learning from them. I've had my share of mistakes and I learned that families can be more accepting and forgiving than we can sometimes give them credit for. Especially when we are young because it's more difficult to understand the concept of unconditional love as it is not something often aired on MTV. If your situation is truly that desperate, you may just have to suck it up and go back to Texas for a little while. Family should be something you can fall back on in times of crisis, if the family is loving and strong. If not, search the internet for roommate sites and sign up with a temp agency TODAY. Get up off your ass and don't slack off. The longer you wallow in self-pity, the deeper the hole you dig for yourself. Believe me when I say you can turn your life around, but don't think you have to do it alone. Humility can earn you more respect than vanity. Try it.
