Predictably, I'm with TxTwoStep on this one. If what CO is saying is true, he's in quite a precarious position in his life now. One that I can relate to on some levels. Just remember that this is a message board of mostly anonymous identities. Unless you personally know someone on this board, ANYONE could be lying. If CO is telling the truth now, it took a lot of guts to do so after his previous posts. Especially in this pool of sharks. I can completely understand the knee-jerk reaction of anger and resentment. But then, I can also understand how an 18-22 year-old would fabricate the truth about a sugar-daddy situation that he was secretly ashamed of and overcompensate. If he is indeed 18, gay, from Texas, in that situation, and we don't know what his family life is like, his lies and attitude are indeed reprehensible, but not incomprehensible.
Yeah, he screwed up and behaved like a brat, but I noticed a definite improvement in his behavior and attitude after the Mercedes fiasco for which some feel he should wear a permanent scarlet "M" until the day he dies. But it is possible that what he is dealing with now is a lot worse than the lies you received from someone you don't even know.
And tough love is not about a constant pummelling. It's about not enabling or reinforcing destructive behavior, which is actually the opposite of many of these reactions.
