Tina Cole was one of The King Cousins, and she was on My Three Sons. I remember, all the King Cousins (inluding the boys), doing a wonderful job with The Telephone Hour, from Bye Bye Birdie.

Anyone else remember when Carol Burnett would spoof The King Sisters, and the camera would pan down all these blondes (including Harvey in drag), and one of them would be Isabel Sanford, in a blonde wig? Very funny.

Speaking of Burnett...
Here she is tearin' it up with SAMMY!
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Everything was orange and brown!

There were bad variety shows, too. Remember The Brady Bunch Hour?

My all time FAVORITE.

The variety show to END all variety shows.

Literally.

And...

Here's another vid with a very young Janet Jackson and her brother Randy tap-dancing as Shirley Temple and Bojangles!

And the Bradys had a fake Jan because Eve Plumb wouldn't participate.

Art has a double face, of expression and illusion.

re: re: I miss variety shows!

They were one of the biggest flops in tv history...basically killing the genre. In 1980, a show was put together for a pair of pop singers from Japan known as Pink Lady...they were brought over, contracts were signed, etc....but they DIDNT SPEAK ENGLISH! So a hyper comedian named Jeff Altman was hired...I barely remember it, but I do remember it ended with the three of them in a hot tub before the credits.
