...but that version on "Dancing With The Stars" did it. Oy.
aw shucks! I thought this was going to be a thread about Wing!
Yeah, it was...special.
I was happy to see Elena Roger, though!

LizzieCurry: Yes! That was very cool. I wish we'd seen her perform a bit, though.
Caroline: lol... I love me some Wing! Don't go dissing Wing!
I am not obsessed with Madonna, but I think her version was beautiful. She sounded better than ever and improved her voice for this score.
Aw, I liked Madonna's version.

Yes, she sounded "better than ever." It's still not a version I like. At. All.
But, as I said, the version on tonight's "Dancing With The Stars" was far worse. :-P
And for the record, I do like some of Madonna's music. I particularly liked the Ray Of Light album.
I am so going to get virtually b!tched slapped for this . . . but I prefer Madonna's version over Patti Lupones (who seems kind of "screamy" at times). **ducks**

To each his own.
I think Madonna's uneven vibrato is just unbearably annoying throughout all of Evita. And she's pitch-corrected. Yuck.
You know, I think Patti is a way better singer than Madonna. I don't know if its because I had the Madonna version for years, before I got Lupone's Evita, but it was very dissappointing for me. I do like Mandy Patinkin better than Banderas, but I much prefer Madonna. I saw Sarah Litzinger on stage and I'd pick her too, before Lupone too.
I agree. The version tonight was not good.
Oh, and spider:

I love Apolo. He is truly awesome. And I feel bad for Ian...I can see he's trying so hard, but I agree with the judges; he's just not "getting it." There's a missing element of joy. And of course, the harder he tries, the harder it will be to convey that sort of exuberance.
**goes and gets ice and Tylenol to numb the pain**
And I will keep my mouth shut about something else, before there is a crowd of people with torches and pitch forks outside my door.

I actually really liked the film. I can see why it got the awards it did. Granted, Madonna isn't Patti, but, meh.
I thought erika finally got around to hearing spidey's and/or soapie's tepid renditions.
I love love love Apollo!
He's so cute!
Geez . . . you love to beat a dead horse, don't you?
I think that's the first time I've said that Apollo was cute.
Hahaha, no not you!

My favorite version is still Lisa Simpson's.

Plus, it was a horrible song to do a paso to!
My EXACT thoughts, erika.
My thoughts on Madonna: I think she has some great music, but I thought everything she sang in Evita just sounded extremely boring.
...and off key.
when I was watching it I was thinking 'When did this become a polka song?'
And Apollo is a cutie.
