Here's one that will make you shudder more.
Under the current provisons of the 22nd and 25th Amendments the following could happen...
1) GW Bush gets re-elected in 2004 and starts his second term on January 21, 2005
2) January 22nd, 2007: Something happens ans GW Bush ceases being President, Dick Cheney becomes President.
3) 2008: Dick Cheney is re-elected.
4) 2012: Since Dick Cheney only served HALF (or less) of Bush's term he can run for re-election again.
That's TEN, count'em 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 Years of President Dick Cheney.

Not that Matt said he hates America...his words actually imply that he loves America a great deal and would not want to see it ruined any more than this administration has already done.
So anyone who hates Bush hates America? Sounds eerily like McCarthyism. With attitudes like that, democracy will cease to exist in the US. Since democracy and the right to vote is the foundation of American government, it sounds like those who believe that to hate Bush is to hate America and should leave is more un-American than hating Bush.

I just pointed out that there are a lot of people who said the same thing four years ago (Alec Baldwin) and still have not left.
Are you sure you want to go to Spain, though? I mean they let the terrorists control their elections. Seems like The Netherlands would be a better choice, but it's up to you.

If in Spain the terrorists were able to "sway the vote," then what the hell does the Bush regime think the terrorists are doing to OURS? These people have used fear of terrorism to "sway" ours since 9/12/01.
In Spain, a majority of the country went to the polls and took the action most of them considered appropriate to remain safe.
We are now being told by Cheney that after 9/11 the ONLY WAY to remain safe is to go to the polls and elect Bush.
Fear affects different people in different ways.

As a matter of fact, the Spanish polls showed Zapatero as the likely winner before the bombings occurred in Spain. If people flock to this country to be "free" and we take pride in that, what is wrong with leaving the country that does not provide equal rights for gays for one that does?
And if someone is truly unhappy where they are living and have the opportunity to live somewhere that could possibly make them happy, why is that a bad thing?

I'm unfortunately too much of a lazy, spoiled American to think of leaving this country. However, I have left locales that I could no longer tolerate - like leaving DC once Reagan took over (and that was difficult, as I truly LOVED that city.) At the very least, I think it's plausable for many to consider moving somewhere else in this country that more succinctly meets their needs. While I couldn't really envision living in California until I moved here, I seriously will need inducement to leave as it affords my partner and I the closest semblance of reality that we can find here in the states.
