I liked it. It wasn't flawless but it was fun.

The more hand-wringing I read about, the more I'm convinced I'm going to enjoy it.

Overall it was an entertaining movie to watch but ultimately disappointing.

Saw the movie and thought it was campy, but good. But in response to the whole alien discussion, Spielberg actually said in an interview with Vanity Fair that the only way he would do a fourth film was if it went somewhere the first three hadn't already been. He then said that critics and fans may not like the Sci-Fi plot, but it was necessary for him.

It only makes sense that since the fourth movie is set in 1957 that it would be more like a cheesy, scifi B movie like Tarantula or Them or It Came From Outer Space. I think one of the original titles for the fourth from the early 90s was Indiana Jones and The Men From Mars, and again the aliens aspect is all apart of the mystery of the skulls. Were they made by beings not of this earth or were they made by humans.

I thought it was thoroughly enjoyable. It was very much in the style of the previous movies, trying to be nothing more than a good old adventure movie with a flimsy plot.

I just saw it tonight and I really enjoyed it. Nothing profound, but neither were the first three. without giving away too much, I liked how they used all the 50's pop culture themes, including the ones about flying saucers and whatnot. Cate and John Hurt were marvelous as usual. Shia fit in great and Harrison was his usual iconic self. re: INDIANA JONES Tonight!

I just back from the movie and I found it very entertaining. It did start off a little slow but definetly picked up after the first 20 minutes. At first I wasn't sure about the alien thing, but I think it was handled pretty well. I think my favorite sequence was the sword fight on the trucks in the rain forest. My least favorite scene was probably the monkey-swinging part. Not a flawless film, but not bad way to spend 2 hours.

Is it better than MUNICH?

BLASPHEMY!

Munich was, IMO, one of Spielberg's top 5 films. I could not believe when I saw it Spielberg had directed it. A GREAT film in my opinion! War of the Worlds and Minority Report, thats another story (which Indy IV was better than by the way)

I wish Karen Allen was in it more. I wish they focused more on them and their reunion and the love story. Felt a tad rushed to me. I think there were so many other possible McGuffins for them to go after which would have been better. I love the crystal skull premise but was hoping they would have left the alien stuff out. The Mitchel Hedges crstal skull is a human crystal skull, not an alien one. Their is a skull called the star child skull though. I think they combined the two, for what ever reason they felt they had to.

I think Atlantis would have been a great McGuffin or even the search for Noah's Ark could have been entertaining. The Pyramids always fascinated me and seems so Indiana Jones. Even the Rennes-le-chateau would have been great for Indy to explore. The treasure of Oak Island is another. Tons of other choices, just seems like Lucas felt they had run out of things for Indy to go after.

I am betting after this weekend an Indy 5 will be announced and I hope they shoot Indy 5 and 6 back to back if they do (Ford, although he looked great ain't getting any younger)Lucas I don't think will be able to resist. He loves doing things in 3's now and we all know George Lucas Needs the money.

The idea that George Lucas has for an potential Indy 5 is to make Shia the main character and Harrison more of a supporting character like Sean Connery was in Last Crusade. I just hope that if they do more, that it doesn't take them 20 years to make another.

There are alot more things that Indy could go after like the fountain of youth, Noah's Ark, Atlantis, things in Tut's tomb, etc.

I saw it tonight and enjoyed it a great deal. Campy at times? Absolutely. But, a fun 2 hours, without a doubt. The plot doesn't make much sense, but when do they ever in these movies? Not the best of the series (I still think The Last Crusade is by far the best), but ions better than Temple of Doom.

Ford still looks great for his age. LaBeouf fits in great, and I hope that one day he "inherits" the fedora (thought it was going to happen at the end, but....). It was also nice to see Karen Allen back.

"Once word of mouth gets around, this movie is going to be one of the big bombs of the summer."

It's already made over $126 million, expected to bring in another $25 million by tomorrow. It's going to be the second biggest Memorial Day opening ever.

Hardly "one of the big bombs of the summer."

Just returned from this movie and I loved it. Not as good as the first three, which was expected, but it was definitely entertaining. Shia was surprisingly good, and I enjoyed the ending for what it was.

Now Atrias, when you start thinking about these movies like that, you run into all kinds of trouble. How'd he get out of that sealed refrigerator? How'd they survive three separate falls down a waterfall with nary a scratch? How were they able to drive a truck across a tree branch? The list goes on. You're better off not even attempting to think about these movies realistically...:)

Whatever, I still think it was one of the best sequences in the film.

I totally had fun. I liked the campy '50s pop culture aspects towards the beginning in particular. I got a kick of of Shia's character being a greaser. I thought the first chase scene was overdone, and the effects with Cate's character at the end were unnecessary/borderline distracting, but otherwise it was really well paced and much in the spirit of the franchise.

I just saw it and while it's not my favorite of the series, I still enjoyed it. I thought it was just great seeing Harrison in his Indiana Jones outfit again and seeing him as Indy again was great. I've never seen any of the other films in the movies, I've only seen them on dvd, so this was the first time for me to see and Indy film on the big screen and it was great. I really loved seeing Karen Allen again and Harrison and Karen just had great chemistry.

One of my favorite bits is with quicksand and Indy and Marion are in it and Mutt goes to get them out and he comes back and you don't see it was it is until Marion gets out and he throws it to Indy...it was a snake. One of the funniest moments in the movie. The only thing I didn't like was how cheesy some of the CGI effects were like the groundhogs at the beginning.

The traditional things to find in an Indiana Jones movie were there as always. There was the opening shot of something that looked like the Paramount logo, there was something snake related, there was the big tough guy that takes Indy forever to fight, and then there was the creepy crawlies(it's scorpions and extremely angry ants).

I loved that for a second at the beginning in the warehouse, that they showed the Ark. That was really cool. It wasn't the best Indy, but it's still loads better thant Temple of Doom. For me the Indy films rank as Raiders being the best, then Last Crusade, Crystal Skull, and then Temple of Doom.

Shia Lebouf IS a misfire.

I will never forget the feeling I had when I left the theater after seeing STAR WARS EPISODE I - THE PHANTOM MENACE. I was afraid I was going to have the same feeling with Indy 4. Thanks God I didn't. With George Lucas, after Episode I ANYTHING is possible.

I credit Spielberg and Spielberg alone for making this moive fun and NOT a CGI digital nightmare. The Digital bits had a great write up about Indy 3 which says it all for me.

"The thing I REALLY dig here is that Spielberg and DP Janusz Kaminski not only shot this on film, the cameras and film stock they chose have the effect of perfectly recreating the vintage look that all the Indy films had. Indy IV looks like it could have been shot back in the 1980s, and the feel is perfect. I've heard that Lucas tried to get them to shoot this digitally, and thank god Spielberg had other plans. To all you guys bitching about grain on Blu-ray, listen up: You want to know what film is supposed to look like? Go see Indy IV."

The reviews are pretty bad, and apparently Cate Blanchett's accent is hilarious.

Actually, the reviews are mostly positive.

I really enjoyed the film. Lots of fun! Pretty much exactly what I would expect from an Indiana Jones film. And I liked it MUCH better than the third film, Indiana Jones in Search of the Holy Grail. And I really don't get why people have a problem with the aliens story line. Because the mystical magical Christian and pagan rituals and sequences were so much more believable? Or is it that the first three movies were so incredibly realistic? WTF? I certainly didn't expect it to be as good as Raiders because no sequel could match that fresh original classic, but I hope it would measure up to the sequels, which it did admirably. It was a popcorn-munching adventure which, after almost 20 years, brought back some nostalgia for original Indy fans while providing some brand new embellishments for the next generation. And best of all? It wasn't another freakin' remake!
