I'm going to the midnight showing tonight! Obviously I'm so excited
; I've been watching the original trilogy all week on the Sci-Fi Channel! Come on, who else is psyched to see a 65-year old do his own stunts?!

I'm too tired to attempt it. Thanks anyway!
I'm pumped
and in an interview with Shia- he said that they would consider doing another if Harrison was on board to do it.
The reviews are pretty bad, and apparently Cate Blanchett's accent is hilarious.
I'm probably still seeing it.
Ugh.

My one word review/synopsis:
Aliens.
Why Steven Spielberg? Why must you bring your alien obsession to Indiana Jones?

I hope George Lucas keeps Harrison as the lead. I heard he wants Shia to take over and if they do a fifth film he wants Ford to play the supporting role. WRONG! These are STILL The Indiana Jones films and NOT the Mutt Williams films. I hope and pray Ford and Speilberg give him hell and refuse to give in.
If this film is good, it won't be because of Lucas but because of Ford and Speilberg.
Nobody is going to be taking over anything.
Once word of mouth gets around, this movie is going to be one of the big bombs of the summer.

Life is far too short to waste on a fourth INDIANA JONES film.
I thought about going to the midnight show last night, but instead, I was in bed by 11. A group of us are going tomorrow night. I can't wait.
Saw it this morning at 10am and LOVED it. Yes, it was a bit camp at times but WOW. Harrison Ford was spectacular. I hope audiences love it as much as I did.

"The reviews are pretty bad"
The reviews I've read have been more postive than negative. I've read only a couple of so-so reviews, but the others have been very postive.
"Yes, it was a bit camp at times but WOW."
That's because it's an Indiana Jones movie. Spielberg and Lucas make have said that the inspiration for these films are those old cheesy cliffhangers from the 40s and this one they were making it like a B sci-fi movie. Lucas said it himself when he said, "It's a B movie but done in A style."
"Aliens.
Why Steven Spielberg? Why must you bring your alien obsession to Indiana Jones?"
You obviously don't know much about the crystal skulls do you? There are a couple of possible origins about the skulls, one suggests that they were made by Mayans and that the play apart in the Mayans predicted doomsday of December 21, 2012. The other is that these skulls were made in such a way and probably with tools that the Mayans didn't have back then and that were made with the same material that computer chips are made of, that these might have been made by aliens. He didn't make it aliens just for the hell of it and to include aliens, aliens are apart of the mystery of the skulls.
I for one am very excited to see KOTCS. I'm seeing it on Monday with my family(my mom loves Harrison, even bought her a KOTCS poster). This is one of the two films that I'm very excited to see(TDK being the other).

I had fun. That's all I wanted. The refrigerator thing was a little... much, but I think the whole alien thing was handled pretty damn well. I mean, is that idea any more out there than an evil high priest ripping out a guy's still-beating heart, then dropping the man slowly and still living into a lava pit located right below and altar? Not in my mind. It was an exciting two hours, and that's all I expect from an "Indiana Jones movie".
Sure the plot was a little ridiculous, but I still had a blast! Harrison Ford has still got it and it was thrilling to see him back up there again! And Cate Blanchett makes a bad asS villain!
It's at 80% on Rotten Tomatoes. The reviews I've seen have been mixed-positive.
I loved it! The whole alien thing was a little weird but I thought it was fantastic. And I loved Cate Blanchett in it, God that woman is scary

tell me about Karen Allen!!!
are there any especially violent or gorey scenes?
thats what would keep me from seeing it.
Karen Allen was fantastic! I'm so glad they had her back in it, she and Harrison Ford still have great chemistry and she was hilarious. There were a couple of gory scenes, one particularly with killer ants which I squrimed in but nohing too bad really. You should definitely see it!
Saw it last night and really liked it...not my fav Indy movie but it I thought it was a lot of fun.
Possible Spoilers...
I thought it got off to a little bit of a creaky start...the tone was off or something. But by the time it got to the motorcycle chase I was into it. I loved the chase through the rain forrest and the fire ants. There were a couple of misfires (Shia swining with the monkeys was stupid) but overall it was just what I wanted to see. And it was worth just to see Karen Allen back in an Indy movie.
SPOILERS
I agree with Erik - the start was a little slow. The chemistry between Ford and Allen was worth the price alone, but I have to say the whole rain forest scene was just spectacular. It didn't involve Indy (which was too bad) but the sword fight on the trucks was AWESOME. You could tell Harrison Ford wasn't quite as physical in this one as in the other three, but he still LOOKS the part.
Have to say, one of my favorite parts was the toss-off reference to Star Wars (if you don't know what I mean, it was the line Indy said just before the weird alien stuff started)

Metacritic has it getting pretty great reviews overall. I don't understand it. Why did you turn Indiana Jones into camp? And why did you use aliens?!?! I think Spielberg should learn to be a tad more expansive.
You mean Lucas should learn to be more expansive. It's his story, not Spielberg's.

OK, I mentioned this before in an earlier post about the whole thing with the aliens. If you research anything on crystal skulls(which do exist, there are 13 and 8 or 9 have been found), there are two theories behind there existantance. One, there were made by the Mayans and have a role in the Mayans predicted doomsday of 2012. Two, the skulls looks like it would've taken the Mayans hundreds of years to sculpt and that they don't look like they could have been made with the tools that the Mayans had back then and the material they are made with is apparently the same material that is used in microchips, so many believe that aliens were the ones who made the skulls.
That and Spielberg and Lucas obviously made this movie more like the B scifi movies of the 50s since it's set in 1957, which would make sense since the first three were meant to be like the old cliffhangers from the 30s and 40s.
