Yeah--I was extremely nervous for the dancing too--as I have not had ANY dance training and well..I'm a guy. However..the dance was not hard and the lady was very nice, upbeat, and friendly along with EVERYONE else. Seriously..they made everyone feel so welcome and comfortable. Pretty much you get about 15 mins to learn the dance..she goes over every move slow and then she speeds it up. The end tempo is quite fast. And the dance is to the song "You Can't Stop the Beat" (they use the movie version). You then audition in groups of three and get two times to do it.

Also..for the singing portion it is only YOU and about four other directors! It is not in front of a large group or anything. Accompanist is perfect and nice as well.

For callbacks..you do the dance again (by memory) with three other people..then they hand out the sheet music that they want you to sing..and then you do some reading scenes from the show. This is in front of ALL the directors/producers/anyone and ALL the other callback kids..so it's a little more intense. However, as I've already said, they make everyone feel so comfortable!

As for female songs..they can virtually ask you to sing any girl part from the show. It all depends on what they call you back as.

I'll try and remember what songs the girls needed to know....

If they call you back as Tracy: "Good Morning Baltimore" "Mama, I'm A Big Girl Now," "Without Love"

For Penny: "Mama I'm A Big Girl Now," "Without Love"

If you're called back for one of the Dynamites (the black soul singas!): The Part from "Welcome to the 60's"

Little Inez: Solo part in "Run and Tell That"

Amber Von Tussle: Part in "Mama I'm A Big Girl Now"

Mrs. Von Tussle: "Baltimore Crabs"

Motormouth Maybelle: "Big Blonde and Beautiful"



That's all I can think of right now..if I missed any other girl parts just ask me.

P.S. For callbacks you first learn the song really quick and sing it as a group and then you sing it individually.

O prisoner don't worry---they stressed that even if you do not get a callback does not mean you won't make the show!


How many people were at the Nazareth auditions? And why wouldn't they have any auditions tomorrow?

Oh, well. I got the "rejection email" tonight. Made it to callbacks, but they only need 35. I wasn't one of them. Does anyone have the cast list?
