From an interview in the New York Press, via Towleroad:

"Oddly enough, I’m actually not a huge gay marriage supporter. I personally don’t want to get married but I think that any law or amendment to the constitution that deals with sex and love should just be banned in general. I don’t think any government should encroach on what goes on in the bedroom at all. Frankly, if you want to marry a dog, why don’t you go ahead and marry a dog, I don’t care. I’m a complete libertarian and so I really disagree with it."

And while his hyperbolic reference to relationships with dogs is a bit over the top, he does point out the Libertarian viewpoint that the government should be playing no part in adult relationships that affect only themselves - no matter the orientation involved.

INDEED! The government should absolutely not be rewarding/punishing anyone for their relationship choices. I don't get a tax credit, because I'm not married. I'd don't get to claim myself as head of household on my taxes, even though I alone pay all my household's expenses, because I don't have any dependents. And I'm sick of it. I shouldn't be punished because I've chosen not to marry and/or spawn.

Goodness knows we've had our differences in the past, Pal Joey, but the one thing I've always admired about you is your cool detachment and your ability to argue an issue you feel passionately about without demonizing your opponent, resorting to irrelevant smears and name calling and focusing on the issue at hand.
