Just remember, JFK and LBJ were like Robert Klein and Lucie Arnaz backstage at THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG. It's what happens in front of the lights that counts. Don't count out the dream ticket, even if it's not a dream for the two of them.
"Edwards is not the answer. He could not give us his state in 2004."
True dat!
I'm anxious to see if Obama/? can string together a run of Old South states in the GE. I sincerely believe that the MD-DC-VA-NC block is ripe for the pickin' and SC, TN and (possibly) GA could fall into formation as well.
If Clinton supporters throw their support behind Obama/? in Nov, you Dems will reclaim the White House, US Congress, and down-ticket offices.
Down-ticket Drag
oh, the clintonistas will fall in line. their loyalty is to the party, not the candidate, unlike the bammy-ites. the problem is that they're going to rally behind a flawed candidate to whom all the tar's gonna stick come fall. plus the arrogance to come, the condescension and the dismissiveness of that campaign starting with bammy and lady macbammy and oozing down will turn off voters in droves.
I think he should offer her a Supreme Court spot and pick Wes Clark for a running mate.
Edwards is not the answer. He could not give us his state in 2004.
Which is a shame as he was my first choice from the beginning.

The Supreme Court is one of the most important reason to support Obama over McCain. John Paul Stevens cannot hang on forever!

Hillary on the Supreme Court ...
That would actually be pretty darn interesting. I don't know if she has any interest, but she might be more conservative as a justice than some think.
DG - I think she is saving face, and nothing more. But just my opinion. I am a Clinton supporter and I think it is time for her to say it is over.
If something does blow up before the convention, who knows, but she should suspend her campaign.

The issue will ultimately be a personal financial issue. Will she want to spend more personal assets to stay in the race. I doubt that she will have any great success fund raising at this point.
More likely it would be Bill on the Supreme Court and Hillary as Senate Majority Leader.
I think Bill would have a MUCH bigger fight than Hillary--she has those Senate contacts and perhaps a bit of sympathy and alot of political admiration.
I've heard word that she's already planning a run for NY governor. And the a$$-kicker is, I'll probably vote for her!
I don't think Bill can serve on the Supreme Court - he has been disbarred. I have not checked the rules, but I would think that alone would make it very problematic, even if he wasn't the polarizing figure he is.
Even though "it was just about sex" his perjury disqualifies him in my mind from serving.
I am a Bill Clinton supporter, and I don't think he belongs on the Supreme Court. I could see him leading the UN some day though.
Actually, Edwards may make an interesting Supreme Court nominee.
Bill WOULD make a great UN Sec. and I like Edwards on the court as well.
I would prefer her on the court rather than him, and I think her confirmation would be much easier.

I doubt it would happen, but Clinton (either) could be nominated to the court. There are no qualifications to be met- you don't even need to be a lawyer. I could see Hillary as majority leader and Bill as either UN ambassador or Secretary of State.
Can he be SecState and be in line for the presidency? I see him as a better fit for the UN.
if he has any sense he will want them as far away from his administration as is humanly possible. putting bill in a high profile assignment is just handing away the bully pulpit and inviting comparisons on every single op-ed page everytime something happens in the world. it'd just be stupid. she has no interest in being veep and i can't see her accepting anything from a bammy administration. what can they offer her other then the supreme court? senate majority leader, maybe, but she might just walk away and say, the hell with all of you.
She'd be an idiot to pass on the Supreme Court--it lasts FAR longer than being President and has a much larger impact on American life.
that's assuming it's offered.
Joe, re the Supreme Court, you are technically correct, there are no qualifications set forth to serve on the Supreme Court - I just cannot imagine that a disbarred attorney who was impeached would be an appropriate Supreme Court Justice.
But who knows, we have to win in November for any of this to matter anyway.
As for Hillary - I cannot see her taking a spot in an Obama Administration.
Bill Clinton nominated to the SCOTUS...I don't think so!
Just imagine the Senate confirmation hearings. The Clarence Thomas-Anita Hill debacle was pale in comparison to the scuffle that would ensue at the mere suggestion of Bill on the high court.
It'll be someone promoted up the ranks from the DC Circuit Court of Appeals. Smart money is on Clinton-appointee Merrick Garland or Judith Ann Wilson Rogers for a number of reasons, if the Dems have their way come Nov.

George Mitchell should be on anyone's short list for the Court - Bill? - never!
You guys are crazy if you think Hillary won't take the best that she can get. She'll hold her nose. She's done it before. She wouldn't fight this hard for this long just to turn and walk away like a petulant child. She has her ideas for our country and she's going to look for a position from which she can try to employ them. She's already running for VP. Note how she's toned down on the anti-Obama rhetoric.
I think the real question here, though, is why she's staying in it. Does she genuinely think she can win, or is she maybe trying to raise enough money to pay off some pesky campaign debts...?
Why cant just both of them run on the same ticket? like JFK & Johnson....
