From the photos, it looks like they tried to infuse some left over Lion King props or ideas and it just doesn't work.
I hate the costumes. I hate the sets.
That kind of symbolism and and style just doesn't work.
Of course, I haven't seen it live so I can't really comment.

My current audition/showcase songs are RUN AWAY WITH ME (Kerrigan-Lowdermilk) and FLIGHT (Craig Carenlia). These songs kinda make me orgasm whenever I hear them*.
*They have to be sung amazingly!
