Hahaha...ok, but that one note IS brutal! She may be great, I haven't really seen her perform live.
She hit the note when I saw her, but I heard she's inconsistent. I've blocked the score out of my head; is it a vocally demanding role?

I did enjoy her solo CD. Well, the bits I heard from it.
I am just kiddin'. lol
I just wanted to come in and cause trouble.

I've heard that it's vocally demanding.
I feel like a lot of contemporary music these days are vocally demanding.

I figured as much, JG. You, trouble-maker, you.
It's a great CD to work out to.

Good night!

As is IN THE HEIGHTS
G'night, Mauri! I should be doing the same, but I slept from 5-9...
I need the Xanadu recording in the worst way! Maybe that would get my asS to the gym!
Oh, I need to get that too, Actr! Definitely my favorite Bway experience in recent memory.
And maybe I underestimated the Adderall, because I just went out for a long walk, got dessert with my roommate and out future roommate, and came back and I'm still not the least bit tired. Of course, that could be related to the fact that I got up at three today...
Xanadu was a blast, but hardly my favorite Broadway experience in recent memory. Granted, I did see it in the same week that I saw August: Osage County, Sunday in the Park, Gypsy, and South Pacific. I just can't get the music out of my head!
I want to sleep until three...

I haven't seen Xanadu, though I feel the recording is lacking.
I wish I could sleep till 3 as well. But we're f*cking MTs :/ My schedule next semester includes me waking up at 7 AM EVERY MORNING!!!
Heh, well I haven't seen Sunday, August, or South Pacific yet, and I loved Patti but have never liked Gypsy... Xanadu was just probably the one time I'll ever get to dance with Mary Testa on a Broadway stage, then leave through the stage door. Also... Cheyenne. Mmmm.
You got to dance with Mary Testa?! **dies** And I just love my Cheyenne so much. My picture with him is adorable, because a) he's Cheyenne, and b) he's doing Blue Steel.
Get on seeing those shows immediately, Sammo! Yeesh!

Funny story. My voice teacher teaches this girl Meg. She's like 12 or something, she's tiny. She just got off the Les Miz tour as young Cosette/Eponine.
Well, she's been auditioning for Billy Elliot and Mary Poppins. So she gets this call saying they need her for Gypsy. Apparently, Baby June was injured, so Balloon Girl stepped in and Meg went on as Balloon Girl for opening night and for a month. The Baby June was her biggest rival so she was so excited! She had to learn both tracks 12 hours prior to curtain! Can you imagine receiving a call like that?! Apparently she was so happy she didn't eat for 3 days!
Ooooooh, is In The Heights on CD??
It was great, I went with my aunt, and the on-stage seating is just benches, no individual seats, so it's sort of who they can fit where. There were a bunch of... "bear" types, if you will, in the center section, so the usher asked if I'd mind moving away from my aunt to switch places with one... which put me in prime position for all things Jackie/Mary. It was wonderful.
And I will! I HAVE to see South Pacific, I'm going to see August the next time I feel ready to commit three-plus hours to... well, anything, and Sunday... well, we'll see. I've never been a huge fan.

The demo is, JG!
I can't wait for the 2-disc OBCR to come out!
Alright kids, I'm off, g'night!
August was the briskest three hours of my life! I usually hate long plays, but by the time the third act ended I SO wished that there was a FOURTH act! It's phenomenal and doesn't have a single dull minute.
South Pacific is WAY down on my list of Rodgers and Hammerstein shows. In fact, I kind of hate it... that might have something to do with having been in it, but still, I loved this production so much!
And, I'm sorry, you've never really liked Gypsy? That hurts my soul, Sam.
I've only seen the South Pacific movie, but I hated it as well.
Is Sh-k-boom doing the cast recording, or was that Passing Strange? I forget.
And re: Gypsy... I love Some People, All I Need Is The Girl, Everything's Coming Up Roses, Gotta Get a Gimmick, and Rose's Turn... but everything in between just kind of leaves me cold. The book just reeeally doesn't appeal to me.
It's arguably the best book of a musical ever. You're breakin' my heart kid!
Re: Cast recordings- I'm pretty sure they're doing both.
