Ohhh, Mr. Holland's Opus certainly struck a chord, no pun intended, with those of us who love the arts, didn't it? Still breaks my heart.
Alicia Witt, who was in that film, was at DQYNJ last week. She was dreadful! lol

How was she dreadful? I love her in THE UPSIDE OF ANGER.
I love MR HOLLANDS OPUS. It makes me cry every time I see it, and i haven't played an instrument in years.

She's just not one for improv. Standing next to Christopher Sieber, it was painfully obvious. Then she said something really stupid in the Broadway Chorus at the end. She got The Color Purple and was supposed to give a word or phrase that represented that show. She sang a long drawn out, "My toenails!" It was just very goofy. I mean, it's not everyone's thing and I am sure I wouldn't have been better. Maybe I am just too critical because everyone else is just so darn funny.
