re: Is That You In Your Avatar? Part 3!

**Picks up twinkies and throws some back at taz, but stuffs face with the rest**
The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Ugh... so depressing. I just found out Barack Obama is speaking in Boston at the same time as the opening of my next show. Life just isn't fair sometimes.

Twinkies?

Strawberry Special K bars are the way to go. You guys are so 90's.

Spring break ends today. Boo...well. Bedtime. Have to go to school tomorrow! Hooray!

I have to BS an entire project on WICKED (the novel) by Tuesday. I should have read it...but that would have taken some real effort. This is my assignment:

-----------------------------------------
1) Book summary (2-3 pages)
Think of the storyboard graph we’ve used in class – Intro, conflict, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.
2) Character Analysis
At least one solid paragraph per character – both main and most minor. Some questions to get you started - Why does the character act the way he/ she does? What conflicts must he/she endure and persevere through? How does the character change?
3) Chapter-by-Chapter Study Guide Questions
You must have a total of 70 QUALITY questions for your novel. The questions must be divided as follows: 15 for the first ¼ of the novel, 20 for the 2nd ¼ , 20 for the 3rd ¼ , and then 15 for the last ¼. You must write the page number, and the answer, for each question. Do not ask silly questions like “What color was the dress she wore to the party?” Look at your Huck Finn study guide questions for examples of the QUALITY I expect!
4) Essay Questions
Write three essay questions that cover themes of the entire work. These should be like the questions I have given to you on previous ROR In-class essay tests. Just write the questions!!!
5) Author info
Cite your reliable source and create an author bio - personal data, other works, awards, “motivation,” historical events, etc.
6) Article/Critique
Find a newspaper/magazine/online ARTICLE (cite your source!) that is relevant to your book. It might be a review, a story about the author, an op-ed piece, or even a news story that is connected to your author, the work, or a historical reference upon which it is based. For instance, Jodi Picoult has written many op-ed pieces about battles she’s had with her books being banned. Attach the article to your RORNotes, and write a one paragraph synopsis.
7) Your Book Review – Minimum of 1 FULL page
Write a book review for your novel. Why did/didn’t you like it? What was the best/worst part of the work? How has reading the book affected your opinions/life/attitude? Why would/wouldn’t you recommend the book to a friend?
-----------------------------------------------

I think most of that is pretty BS-able. Yay! re: Is That You In Your Avatar? Part 3!

In case you all were wondering my life story.

So, I just woke up right now. And all I did was take a quick nap... I don't remember when, though. And now I'm all confused and disoriented and I have to be up in 8 hours.

I don't know if I'm tired though? And I was supposed to read some of my novel for school but I definitely didn't do that either..

Oh you silly kids. Schoolwork is for squares.

I went DVD shopping today. Now I'm watching Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. I forgot what a really cool movie this is. It's so dark... and I do love me some Alan Menken. re: Is That You In Your Avatar? Part 3!

I just took a shower.

I feel so fresh and so clean, clean.

Hilary and I hosted tonight on tv. We had fun as always.

Makeup is all over my tub...I'll clean it tomorrow.

This sounds like something more for my blog. (But I don't have a blog. Yet.)

I should have read it...but that would have taken some real effort. This is my assignment:

Oh my God Parks - I actually read the novel and that assignment made me want to curl into the fetal position in a dark corner. Is that a typical assignment?

Yeah. I got your e-mail the other day about you hosting.

I thought it was pretty useless sending it to me considering I live about 3 states away from you.

Unless if it was like...national. was it? Were you hosting the Soul Awards?

Edit: So I did e-mail you.

Oh well...delete it if it's such a problem. Prick.

wonderwaiter- If you're going to be an undergraduate, you are going to need to learn to BS papers without having read the book. It's as vital to being an undergraduate as Ramen and beer pong.

re: Is That You In Your Avatar? Part 3!

hehe - Ramen, beer pong (among other forms of mind-altering) and BSing assignments are not new to me. Unfortunately, that's why I didn't get this degree 10 years ago! That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid this go-round.

(ETA - not terrified. Not in the least. Nothing to see here, folks.)
